I'm currently using EK 101 and TPRH for VR. While I'm doing post-review, both books provide very short explanation for right/wrong answers. Most of the time, I left with confusion why this answer is right/wrong. After working a couple of passages from kaplan, I like their explanation. I can also check my understanding of the main theme of the whole passage or even for the individual paragrahs. I think I like kaplan the way they help you to get the correct answer. However, I did research here, everyone hate kaplan for not being accurate for the actual test. I'm really stressed out with VR. I also try a little bit of BR VR, I think I like it too. May be I'm the person who like long explanation rather than trying to figure it out why I did wrong by myself? Does anyone plz suggest me whether I should work on kaplan and BR VR in addition to EK and TPRH? or Do you guys think it would be a total waste of time?

frankly, I like Kaplan verbal. they were great practice. I got a 10 on verbal which isn't great but it's decent - and Kaplan verbal was partly responsible for helping me get that. with mcat, there are so many opinions floating around that you have to try them and make up your own mind. I can tell right away if something is worth my time or not. if it's too easy or too hard, I personally can tell. for example, I did just one passage of tbr verbal, I think on Beethoven. it was so hard that I felt it was a waste of my time and I wasn't going to get better doing that.

Thanks for the reply. I feel the same way but I was really hesitate to use kaplan cuz of saying that their passages are very detail-orientated which are rare on actual test. 🙁 which practice book did u used for VR other than kaplan?

all aamc material, tpr verbal workbook, and Kaplan. i'll admit, I used Kaplan as filler to not overuse the aamc & tpr too quickly but Kaplan was still pretty good.
