For those of you who did Kaplan and the full length exams what were you getting on each exam before you decided to take the DAT? I know you want to mimic the grade you want on the actual DAT but Ive heard Kaplan was harder than the actual DAT as well.

I took my test in April. I first started using Kaplan online course. I personally think that Kaplan is a good studying resource and all the information you need to know for the test is there. However, I don't think the Kaplan full length exams really represent the actual test. Some of the questions go into some weird details that you don't need to know for the test. So I guess you can say that Kaplan is harder than the actual test but it is not a good representation of the test. However, the PAT sections in the full lengths are way easier than the actual test.
I did all the full length tests two months before my actual test. I then spent a month to review all the materials and the questions I did wrong on the full lengths. A month before the test, I wanted to do more practice problems so I started using Bootcamp and I surprisingly found that the questions were really different from the ones in Kaplan, so I worked really hard and tried every means to finish all the practice problems. And it was worth it because I think the actual DAT was similar to BC in terms of the wording and difficulty. I found PAT on the actual test slightly harder than BC but I still managed to get a competitive score.

I did not have a record of the scores I got on my Kaplan practice tests. So sorry I could not really answer your question.

I've only taken 2 Kaplan practice tests, but IMO the scope of the kaplan tests is kind of limited. Virtually all of the questions were straight from KBB, which is limited to begin with :/

For me, bio on the real test was harder and more random, gchem and Orgo was easier, pat was way harder on the real thing, RC on the real dat was easier for me, I can't judge qr because I suck at math and everything seems hard lol. But overall I scored a lot higher on the real DAT than Kaplan 🙂

What were your scores from Kaplan and BC if you don't mind sharing. I am finding that mine have huge discrepancies between the two programs

I only took one Kaplan and one BC test. Kaplan test was from the back of the blue book and it was the first one I took, got an 18 AA and 19 TS I think. BC I got a around a 19 AA on that first free test. My real score was a 22 AA and 22 TS. I liked the 2009 one from the ADA the best. It was closest to what I saw on my real test. Good luck!
