I was wondering in anyone is attending.. has attended.. or is planning to attend Karol Marcinkowski U. in Poznan.. if so let me know.. also ... I'm starting to get a little bit iffy about my decision to study in Poland... mainly because of some of the negative comments I've been hearing from people... the school I am attending does not deal with HMI... there are no hidden fees .. but because of the posts I have been reading on this website ... http://www.network54.com/Forum/183613 I've become very confused... can anyone studying in Poland give me some encouragment... advice? thanks

Have you been to Poznan and seen it? Its not exactly the nicest city in Poland. I'd prefer it to a Carib island though I suppose.

Ya I've been to the city... I was born not too far from there... Are you studying in Poznan right now? If not than why were you there?

I was in Poznan just for kicks on a trip to Poland. Very cool country, very nice people!

I graduated from KMU a couple of years ago. All the points posted regarding polish medical schools contain some truth however some points are exagerated as well. When people ask me about polish medical schools I always refer them to the eastern europe medical school report at WWW.AAIMG.COM This is honestly the most accurate and objective evaluation of these schools you will find. My initial start there was quite a shock. But after a several month adjustment period I really enjoyed myself there. Poznan is a bustling city with lots of culture,cafes,clubs and other distractions. It has a huge student population so there is always stuff going on. If you are of polish descent and speak the language you will probably fare better than others but keep in mind you may have to do much board prep on your own. If you've made the deision to go, don't get psyched out! be serious about it and stay focused for the next 6 years and you'll do fine.

I strongly recommend against visiting the network 54 site regarding the schools in Poznan. I was disgusted with the bigotry, slander, indecent language, misinformation that was going on in that unmoderated forum. In fact, I don't believe that forum should exist. If I had more time, I would take action to have it shut down. "IzaOIza", I recommend you remove that link from SDN as the network 54 site is inappropriate for those seeking actual information. The network 54 site is a complete waste of time.

A&W I totally agree with you... I was shocked at the content of that forum... but I can't help but take into consideration some of the things those people were saying... people don't just lash out like that for no reason... I hope things aren't as bad as they say they are...
