for any current students or anyone who knows...is it like hitting lotto to get one one these on campus units?? just kidding...but seriously, it sounds like about 22 units open up for about 160 new students.

do any of you know about how many of those new students actually want one of these units??

furthermore, am i making a mistake by wanting to get one of them?? are they nice??

thanks for advice!

Congrats on getting into KCOM. I lived in those apts for 2 years. They are ghetto fabulous. What I mean by that is they are old, w/ brown carpeting, no AC, a radiator as a heater (works fine). But on the plus side they are close to both school (all you have to do is cross the street and you are in the hospital) and the TCC. Also there was free internet while I was there. And just randomly, it was the cultural center of K-ville. You would walk down the hall at any one time and smell 3-4 different nationalities of food depending on whose room you passed by. There are other nicer apts that you can get for cheaper, but the location might not be as close. But if you're not opposed to Dorm life again I say go for it. I liked it and had fun living there. It build character. Oh yea, its furnished too. AND bars are within stbumlnig distance.
Good luck,
FG

i live in one of these right now (and did last year as well). they're not terrible... they're certainly not luxury though. concrete walls, sort of indoor/outdoor carpet. anyway... the heat is free in the winter which is a bonus, internet is free, you're about 30 steps from the school/hospital in one direction and about 30 steps from the gym the other way.

if you dig the dorm feel, this is the place. we've actually had multi-apartment parties here on free weekends and there's always someone coming by to hang out...

it's not the cheapest place in town, but it is certainly convenient.

If you do not mind me asking, what is the rent on these apartments?

Thanks,

Amber

that's what it is this year, but i'd be surprised if it didn't go up for next year (there's almost always a price increase, but it was only $10 or 15 more last year)
