Hi everyone! I recently got accepted to KCU-COB for the Fall 2018 semester, but am also considering Barry University's MS in Biomedical Sciences Program. was wondering if anyone that is going through/went through the programs could give me a current view on what each program is like in terms of the following:

1.) Quality of the faculty
2.) MCAT prep
3.) How well the administration helped with application preparedness
4.) Curriculum

My current stats are a 3.25 GPA (both UGA and Sci) and a 495 on the MCAT 🙁.

Hi bleedorange! I just noticed your post or I would have responded sooner. I'm currently a KCU-COB student so I can try to answer some of your questions.

1) The faculty here is great. I don't have any complaints. They all seem to know what they're talking about and are mostly available after class if you need them.
2) Included in your tuition is access to the Kaplan MCAT course. This is all online and they will provide you with the latest kaplan books, but our books didnt come until late September ish. You can access the online content before the semester starts though, and I feel like the online tests were the most helpful part of the program.
3) The learning specialists on campus are great and willing to read through personal statements and give feedback. During your first semester there will be optional workshops where someone will come and speak about applying. They focus on applying to medical school in general, but there was one workshop specific to applying to KCU-COM.
4) you take 5 classes per semester; everyone takes the same 4 plus one elective. Fall semester we took Anatomy 1, Physiology 1, Epidemiology, Biochemistry, and either Microbiology or Histology. Spring semester you take Anatomy 2, Physiology 2, Immunology, Molecular Biology, and either Genetics or Embryology.

If you have any other questions let me know! I'm on here from time to time.

I am a student at Barry right now and I can say that the staff and faculty is easily approachable to get help. The courses are designed to help you succeed for the MCAT. We have staff members that will help you with personal statements and questions along the application process. The medical track represents an intense program that provides a broad biomedical education. In total you will take 34 credits. Most of these classes will be similar to your first year in medical school.
