Help me decide! I know this has been asked in the past but that was before loan changes and "drama" at both schools.

KCUCOM - Joplin

Pros:
- Closer to home
- P/F curriculum (quartile ranking)
- Established and reputable
-Want to match back to Chicago which seems more possible from here

Cons:
- Board pass rates have fallen in the past couple years (but are on the rise)
- Students have been saying admin is unsupportive as of late

ACOM

Pros:
- Better recent board pass rates than KCU
- Cheaper than KCU since classes have been moved up and will seemingly be grandfathered into old loan system
- Warmer weather

Cons:
- Students have mentioned bad remediation policies that are affecting many students (admin says policy is being reworked)
- I would have to take Orgo 2 before matriculation
- Further from home than Joplin

You'd need to take ochem 2 in January then pretty much if ACOM starts in July normally. If they are moving classes up to try to grandfather the latest cohort, it will be even earlier.

If that is onerous, then KCU is much easier and a fine school.

Thanks for the reply! I’d start orgo 2 beginning of January and end at the beginning of May at a local community college. ACOM is scheduled to start end of June so there’s some time between.

Not necessarily excited to take the class but am open to it if it’s worthwhile to attend ACOM.
