Hello everyone!

I applied MD and DO this cycle, and I am grateful to have been accepted to 4 DO programs so far. As the December deposit deadlines approach, I want to make a confident decision regarding which school I claim a seat at. KCUCOM and ATSU-SOMA seem to show the most competitive residency matches, but ACOM and LMU-DCOM are closer to home (I’m a Floridian, and I have lived in TN in the past). All 4 schools are wonderful, but I want to make the happiest and most informed choice. Any input would be appreciated! And best of luck to everyone else applying this cycle 💛

I can't speak for the other schools but I know LMU is awful. Don't go there. Not only will you be poorly trained, but you'll have to struggle just to graduate.

All my LMU friends didn't see patients on their internal medicine rotation. For example. They just shadowed like premed students.

I hear good things about ACOM

Wow :/ that sounds pretty frustrating. Thank you for commenting on it, I will certainly take it to heart. I hear good things about ACOM too! I may lean toward KCU and ATSU-SOMA only because they’re more established and seem to have strong residency match lists.

Don’t go to ACOM over KCU or ATSU because of me. I know absolutely nothing about those schools, can’t compare them

ATSU SOMA 3rd year here. Our school has some flak for the year it it changed curriculum (my first year). Things have stabilized since, and SOMA is back to being the innovative school it is known to be. You have to be ok with the CHC system if you come here, and you will have lots of clinical experience and plenty of resources for anatomy, learning, and research. ATSU is a great place to be. DM for any questions.
