KCUMB Class of 2018

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
fyi for those that have bought plane tickets/planning on getting them for the end of the year. As of now, one week has been added to the year, so instead of the last day of class being June 26th it shows July 3rd

Ugh, lame. When do we start back up?

Here are some of my study guides for endocrine, I am going to try this out. I will continue to update the folder when I finish the last 4. They aren't perfect or complete, I usually omit things that are easily deduced or are repeated in another lecture.

- Dropbox

Update: They should all be there now. Is there anything that could be done to make it better? I am trying to be on the line of keeping it trim enough.

We all know that final is not 4hours so when are they changing the exam's start time to 930am?😉

Update 11:12: I added 2 more lectures. I will put up Saxena's last on and Gustafson's manana. Are they helpful?

Nice job! they are a nice summary to help consolidate some of the disorganized stuffs in my head! Thank you

Probably the kids going into Global Health or something. They are now on a P/F system I believe.

There is no way 33 kids dropped.

I thought the people from Global Track were still under the same "system" just that the classes under that track are P/F

Yeah but if they are P/F how do you calculate that into the GPA?

I'm calling ~79% +/- 2 for this one.

Saxena had a few goofs but overall his teaching was pretty good. The questions didn't seem too harsh. He pretty much told you what you needed to know during his reviews.

I'm calling 84%. Everyone said it was easy.

You could be right. There wasn't a lot of information and we had plenty of time.

If I go strictly by what I usually get in the previous sections then I would have said ~83% +/-. I felt a little bit more prepared than usual so dropped it down to the 79-80% range.

Either way I am ensured my B in this class so I don't care.

I think they made it this easy to prep us for Repro and development.

After talking to a bunch of people I'm redacting what I said. I haven't had one person say it was hard.

Infact some people thought they did much better than the score they got. In renal we got 1 point back and 1 question thrown out. ~84% as DoD said might not be too far-fetched.

The class rank thing still makes sense. If students had dropped they would have most likely been in the bottom 1/4 of the class. This would have lowered my class rank.

Global health is top 1/3. A few probably got taken out and now my class rank is higher.

Why would the people in global medicine not get actual grades?

Unless I am mistaken, from talking to some people involved you get grades, not just for the global health classes

I don't know if I am looking in the wrong place but the class size shows 273 as I am seeing now

There's no way that 30 some people dropped, I'm guessing that's an error. Especially since there is no way my class rank went up after renal. Also, the global med and military track classes are P/F but they still get graded in all the other classes with the rest of us. Maybe the 240 isn't including people that had to remediate a class or something?

So I randomly joined the c/o 2015 just to see how the match went.

So far 7 people have posted they matched ortho, 1 in neurosurg, 1 ENT, a bunch of EM...

Isn't that a healthy amount?

Anybody from the MBA program here what day do you meet?

Also, I know I am the minority here and that people like their weekend off, but if anybody cares and wants to have more days to study for midterm repro, ie the weekend, let your officers know. It can only change if the majority of the class wants it

Hey everyone! I'll be a student at KCU this coming fall as a part of the class of 2019. I'm looking into apartments to live in in the area, and I was wondering if any of you knew anything about Bennington ridge Apartments or Forest Park Apartments?? Or, if you have any other suggestions, I would love to hear those as well! Thank you!

I've never heard of either of those. I'd contact Michelle Sparks, she's a realtor that works with incoming students. She should be able to tell you everything you need about those places. If you want to be downtown, there are a lot of places. I'd specifically look into Quality Hill and some of the lofts (lucas lofts, walnut towers, etc). There are also some solid places in North KC about 5-10 minutes from campus like City View Apartments and Retreat at Walnut Creek. Those were the nicest places I saw that still seemed worth the price.

Grades are up! Average 82.21%. That was fast!

Is it strange that their mean does not reflect the posted average? 56.84 should give about 81.2% not 82.2

That was fast. And yeah....that percent average is wrong if the point total is right.....

I noticed that this class has stepped up their game since we got back from Christmas break! So I am not surprised about the high averages anymore

I thought it was easier than expected, still would have liked to do better though. Plus I'm sure we'll get come points back/questions thrown out, so hopefully they'll correct the average then. Andrea Hanson also said at the beginning of the year they do all their curves/grading based on points, not percentage. So as long as the points are right the curve should still be correct.

I hope so. I can think of at least 2 questions that were lacking sufficient information or spelled wrong.

Well, that was a fun OS quiz. I really dislike fill in the blanks. lol.
