KCUMB Class of 2018

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Wait! what???? I thought it was just competency #6? oh well! What other set are we talking about?

I don't know if that helps but PCM is as follows: Labs ( eye exam, physical diagnosis x2{ October 2nd, Aug 13th}) Lecture ( SOAP note review, Traumatic Brain injury, heart sounds) and CIS for each block ( Neuro Renal, Cardio and Pulm). Not as bad as this OS exam I think and we will have a review on Monday that's supposed to give us some guidance on what's the take away from the CIS

Relax, it's only Comp #6. Comp #5 will be tested next semester.

Dear Admin at KCU, now that we (the Royals) won, can we trade whatever free food/ hot dogs you were planning to give us for a 10 am exam?
Please and thank you!

Competency 7 after the Respiratory Midterm next monday is still within the 7-day window I was talking about.

Also, I'm glad the Royals won - but almost equally as glad that postseason baseball is over for the single reason that now I can maybe regularly get to bed at a reasonable hour.

FML.

Thoughts on the OS exam? Normally I do above average but I got rekt on that one.

I somehow managed to maintain my exam score.
I've heard people have failed and I have heard people did well. It's a toss up at this point.

So we complained when we need to, but I also think it is good to give credit where credit is due. It's a breath of fresh air to see the spirit of collaboration rekindled in our class! Despite us being tired and stressed out we have managed to stay away from unnecessary competition, maintain and grow the KCU community that this school has been known for. I think it's truly remarkable. If anyone here is not on fb, go look and get some study help out of the outline/power points put together...and don't forget to contribute! Good luck everyone

Yeah, just what I was thinking. It's pretty remarkable. Brings back the feeling of what KCUMB was like when I first interviewed here.

I think most of us are in the same both! Between giving is an "easy " test this morning, more time to finish it and giving 5 points to any who shows up tomorrow, I think we can say that they have realized how much they were piling on us and are trying to lessen the blow!

Lol, true. I just wish I knew it would be that easy so I could have focuses on respiratory more. I feel like I'm going to get crushed on Monday...
Come monday, watch class avg is a 80 lolllll.

Hello all, so I will be attending KCUMB next fall as a first year student and I have decided to stay at the Century Tower. I'm having difficulty finding roommates. I tried the Facebook group and even messaged someone if he was interested since he liked my post but I haven't gotten a response yet. What are some ways I can reach out to other students? I know that the time to apply for Century Tower should be done as soon as possible before rooms run out. I'm starting to get worried that I may not have a roommate and I'm just confused as to what I should be doing. Can anyone provide me some suggestions? Thanks.

Don't worry, you have enough time. It's November and people are still interviewing. I don't think they've even accepted half of your class yet and many people are unsure of living arrangements at this point. But CT usually makes a contact list of people needing roommates, you should email them about it.

Given that you guys are current students, I have 2 questions I was hoping someone can help answer:

1) how are sites for clinical rotations determined? Can you select which site you want, or is it random, first-come, or based on grades?
2)where is a good place for OOS students to stay for year 1 (and possibly year 2). They gave us the pamhlets for CenturyTowers, but some people in my interview said how it might be sketchy/unsafe. The entire neighbourhood around campus gave me a bad vibe, but I am not sure..... Are there better alternatives, or are people living in CenturyTowers comfortable?

Me too. I don't think I've ever been this unprepared. Ever.
Just a smidge.

But right now I'm mostly hoping tomorrow doesn't end up worse than neuro.....

This is the first exam I actually feel screwed.

Not gonna lie, I'll be completely fine with a score starting with a 6 tomorrow. Although I'm feeling oddly comfortable with the material, I'm sure it's probably because I don't realize how much I'm actually missing instead of actually knowing everything. Maybe a bit of denial mixed in there too...

Yep. Well said. I feel this - for sure.

So that was fun.....and by fun i mean i'd rather have jumped off a cliff. But it's over and now I will continue not knowing anything about antibiotics.

Estimated average, 42%.

We don't have to worry about rotations anymore. Entire class of 2018 becomes class of 2019. We have to remediate the whole 2nd year over, and the first years get to jump straight to third year because they are so smart!

We get to stay in KC another year. Yes!

Lol! This is just what I needed right after that test! A good laugh! Thanks 🙂

So you're saying I'm average?

Ha, I'm actually the exact opposite of that. I thought pharm was pretty easy. Idk where some of that path came from though...

Wish I could say the same thing. And I usually get all of the pharm questions on exam or maybe miss a couple. Maybe I just got cocky
