ElvisMarie - sorry to hear about Davis! I didn't expect them to start sending anything out yet. that sucks. my condolences.

Thanks Catnapper!

That's Neko, my Oriental Shorthair. He was a breeder reject because, as a chocolate smoke cat, he had too much chocolate and not enough smoke color. Can you believe that?! He is the smartest cat I have ever had. He is also very funny because he loves to talk but his voice is this raspy little whisper, so when he gets worked up and meows, hardly anything comes out.

Illinois should be sending interview invites at the end of the month.

Did you contact them? Interesting (and nerve-racking), as I recall from following this thread last year, they sent invites around Jan 5th last year, and the interview was only 6 days earlier than this year.

Anybody else get any emails from Davis? I've been checking my email...😕

Well your little Neko's one gorgeous guy!🙂

BTW, if I were to "re-vote" on the poll re: number of times I check e-mail/this forum/my application status - it has changed from a healthy once a day before the end of the year to > 3-4 (for each one) now! 😀

Well, here's my logic:

If last year status changed on the 5th, and the interviews were held on the 12th (Feb), then this year, status should change on the 11th, since the interviews are on the 18th. 😀 I might be way off, but it makes sense to me🙂

For the one who asked if anyone had heard from Purdue:

About the middle of December I had recieved a letter stating that I had made it past the first rounds and my application was going forward. I understand that they also sent letters to those who weren't strong candidates notifying them that they were no longer being consider. Anyways, the letter I recieved also stated that in mid to late January they would be sending out more letters (by letters I mean snail mail) informing applicants if they were invited to interviews or not.

I am sorry to hear about the rejections, I wish you all the best of luck and keep trying 🙂 Good luck with the other schools.

i am instate and have only heard via email that my application is complete.

Mine was incomplete because ETS is a bunch of *****s , but yeah I got that e-mail a week and a half ago or so. Maybe they're just doing out of state stuff before in state.

I am in-state for Davis and have not heard anything other than an email in early December that my application was complete.

I also got the letter from Purdue in mid-December saying my application was still being reviewed. At the time, I kind of just thought it was a "your application is complete and we'll let you know later," but apparently I didn't read it carefully enough (I received 5 minutes after an anatomy/physiology test and 5 minutes before a biochem test, so my mind was elsewhere!) because one of my friends got a rejection letter from them at the same time.

I'm starting to get antsy, I applied to 5 schools and have only heard about an interview from one so far (Penn interview this Friday). I just want to know one way or the other!

So long sunny California~
I just got my rejection email from Davis.....*SIGH*

Hey everyone,

My status changed on the illinois page--now it states "Interview offered - please watch for instruction letter mailed 01/08/08."

Just checked my application status and it changed to interview offered this a.m.!🙂😀👍

Same here: Just checked my status and it changed to "Interview Offered". 😀. I don't think my body can handle this much adrenalin in the morning.😀

I don't really need to post this again as it is on the interview thread but I don't get to post such good news very often. I screamed so loud when I saw the status page my dad's poor pugs started yowling too because I freaked them out so bad!

Good luck to everyone else too, waiting is hell.

Rejection letter number one, so much for California 🙁 Long shot anyway.

Thanks elvismarie6 (I'm sorry about yours too) & nyanko~ 🙂

Sorry to see that you got yours too rex.....
I'm kinda scared to check my email now...

😱 already? Oh god I am not ready for this yet, my file there isn't even complete yet! Sorry about your rejection though, I'm sure mine will come soon enough. 🙁

I'm in-state though...anyone in-state hear anything from them?

nope! --And it's driving me nuts!! :scared:

Sorry about Davis, guys. Like Nyanko said, the weather here isn't so good right now anyway.

I'm just relieved that no one seems to have heard from Tufts or Auburn yet... but still anxious! :scared:

I am waiting on Auburn too. I am in-state so I should at least get an interview (fingers crossed) and I will be sure to let people know when that happens! It is not cool that Auburn is one of the last schools to get things rolling. I am sick of waiting to see if my in-state (CHEAP!) school will let me come there 😀!

I'm out-of-state, so less likely to get an interview, but I still want to know either way! Good luck, and I hope we hear from them soon! 😳

How long does it take the status page to change after interviews at Ohio State? I just want to know how long I should wait before getting antsy. 🙂

The adcomm meets on Tuesday so after Tues/Wed I would look for a change. Good luck!

Checked status page - interview offered 1/8/08

Shuvball,

When was your interview? Mine was on 12/18 and my status page still has yet to change! I think that because they meet on Tuesday is the reason why though (the Tuesday after was Christmas, and the next Tuesday was New Years). Hopefully they talked about those of us who were on the 18th yesterday....I am keeping my fingers crossed!

I have no idea, but I will take this opportunity to let everyone know that mine still says evaluation (aaaaaaaaah)

kekemapa04:
I interviewed on 1/3 and Dr. Sanders said that they would be evaluating the group from before Christmas break as well as my group this past Tuesday (yesterday). That being said, I have been checking my status page obssesively the past couple days. Hopefully we will hear something tomorrow. Good luck!

banditalfi:
You must be going crazy! Maybe with Christmas they're just a bit behind? Congrats on Cornell though by the way!

I am now the proud owner of one Davis rejection email as well. Didn't think it would hurt quite as much as it does! But I know I'm in good company, because y'all are amazing. Softens the blow.

All the rejections are making me worry, I was planning on applying to Davis OOS this coming year (in fact, it's the school I want to get into the most), but should I just save my money instead? You guys were such great applicants!

i interviewed on 12/16 and figured it would take longer than normal to evaluate interviews around those times, due to the holidays... now i'm even more nervous... i interviewed with Dr. Sanders too!

Davis is notoriously difficult for OOS - but the only way that you're guarenteed not to get in is if you never apply at all. It's a long shot for most OOS people, but it's a shot : )

If you were strapped for the money, I'd say think twice. If you have the funds available, go ahead and put your name in the hat!

oh boy. now I'm really getting ancy about ohio! i so hope I find out tomorrow... but I'm so nervous at the same time. ahhhhhhhh 😱 I'm from connecticut so i've pretty much applied OOS everywhere. CT made a contract last-minute (i.e. around thanksgiving time) with Iowa, but I don't think my app will get processed since I don't have all the prereqs done b/c I wasn't planning on applying there... so essentially I'm OOS everywhere and Ohio is one of my super top choices... I knew Cornell was a long shot so I wasn't surprised when I got rejected there. but Ohio puts 55% of the decision on the interview... so I felt like I had a decent chance there... but then again, it was my first interview and I was a complete nervebag...

okay well i'm just babbling at this point... crossing fingers for tomorrow. good luck my fellow recent ohio interviewees... :luck:

55%, really? I didn't know that. Good luck to everybody!

If you want to go there the most, you should apply. If you don't, you'll never know. And it would stink to always wonder. I mean, some people get in from out of state. It's just not a huge number. Also, Davis doesn't have a supplemental fee (because they only have optional supplemental forms) so it's a tad cheaper to apply there than some other places since you're only paying VMCAS. In the end, if you've got the extra $50-90 or so (rough cost of applying to one more school through VMCAS) to give it a whirl, I think you should, given how strongly you're interested in the school.

Ohhhh... Sarah I'm so sorry, not a great way to start off a day. I'm sure you have more schools to hear from still though! How did you hear the decision?

rejected. I knew it... oh well...

So sorry to hear that. Did you interview? I am still on referred status. OSU said I can her until the first week of Feb whether or not I will have an interview. Thanks

I'm still on "evaluation" - would it be OK to call them up just to touch base and see what's going on?

Yep, you can definitely give them a call. You will be talking to Amber and she is very nice and helpful.
