I thought it might be nice if we kept one another updated as we here from schools. I know it's too early to hear about interviews, so I was thinking more along the lines of letting each other know when schools begin confirming that application materials have been received, post their tracking pages, send informative emails, etc. What do you all think, eh?

Having been around this forum for one application cycle already, I can assure you that people definitely communicate when they receive anything from any of the vet schools. People here are nothing if not eager to share. 🙂

I think its not a bad idea.

K-state - received a postcard saying my application was complete in september

Iowa State - my tracking page indicates all materials received as of september

Penn - no word, an email respose regarding my app said that we would receive notification in nov regarding any missing materials. I just assume they got my VMCAS since every other school did

Cornell - tracking page indicates all materials received and all pre-reqs are verified

Auburn - got an email that my app was complete

K-state- received postcard on 10/20, saying application complete.

Western- e-mail saying VMCAS received on 10/18.

:corny: now I sit and wait.....

- Illinois status website up as of 10/15, says all materials received but still verifying transcripts

- Email from Wisconsin today saying file is complete and supplemental application forthcoming in November

Michigan State- tracking page says everything received in early October

Tufts- tracking page says everything is in except 2 LORs (they sent me an email when the first LOR was submitted, so I assume they will do the same for the rest)

WSU- received an email that stated they have started processing applications and they would now like my $40 (nice 🙄 )

CSU- no idea; does anyone know if they have a tracking page?

Oregon state- no idea

UCDavis- no idea

Colorado State said that if you log back into the supplemental "after October 22" then you will be able to see your status. I see at the top there are 3 hotlinked text areas (announcements, and a couple of others), and a 4th that is not hotlinked (application status webpage). I'm assuming the application status webpage part will link somewhere someday ...

Oh, and don't expect to hear a peep from Davis until at least December. Last year they sent out emails saying whether or not your file is complete - I got mine Dec 6 or 7.

Sorry to butt in, but where do you find the Tufts tracking page? (Do you only get it after you've submitted?) Thanks!

I've submitted by TUfts app, and I don't know where a tracking page is! I did get an email from them about their signature programs saying "thanks for submitting your app".

Well, I suppose it isn't a formal tracking page, but if you log back in as if you are going to do your application again, it will tell you what you are missing, and the dates you have submitted your stuff. They were good with me about emailing me about certain things. For instance, I got an email when my first LOR submitted, and if the other 2 were on the ball I'm sure I'd get another 2 when they submit! They also sent me a recent email about opportunities they provide for students to see the vet school. So I suppose it isn't a tracking page per se, but you can see the status of things to a certain extent.

Kansas State: Postcard stating that all materials are in. 10/10

K-State -- postcard in September, application complete
Auburn -- email 10/18, application complete
CSU -- online tracking updated 10/23
UF -- online tracking updated 10/25

Still waiting to hear anything from Penn, Davis, UMO & VA-MD

Still waiting to hear anything from...VA-MD

Joyce at VMRCVM told me to send her an email and she'd let me know if everything was in. It took her a while to get back to me (and I think I followed up with a phone call) but I got confirmation that way.

Also, I had 3 eLORs and one paper, and she asked me to let her know which 3 letters were my primary ones. I don't know if other schools need this guidance, but now that I know VMRCVM wanted it, I'm going to contact the other schools with the info, too.

Colorado State Application Status page is up - when I logged into the supplemental application, the "Application Status Webpage" text at the top is now hyperlinked.

Kansas: postcard in Sept. saying my file was complete
Ohio: email 9/28 to supplemental & tracking page.
My page said "Status Incomplete" but changed a week ago
to "Status Referred" Still says they're missing LORs but have
transcripts & tests-planning on calling to check.
Ok: email 10/1 they did not have my subject GRE - I had
to resend.
Western:email September saying file was complete
Penn: no news
Iowa: tracking page says as of Oct., everything received
Michigan: email 9/27 to supplemental & tracking page
This week, my file was "dismissed" at Michigan
1 of my LORs (vet) submitted paper, not electronically
I asked if they could bring forward my app. from last yr.
all 3 were electronic/ 1 was vet but short, quick answer
was no. One down.

Wait...you mean they dismissed your application because one of your vets chose to submit the LOR by paper instead of electronically?? They didn't like that?? What?! You paid MSU HOW much money to evaluate your application?!

I would be FURIOUS!!! It's not like something is genuinely missing, even! 😡

Imagine 21...Re: Ohio... What does status referred mean??? Do you know? Mine says the evaluation forms are missing, even tho everything has been sent. This is confusing.

I believe an individual at CSU had a problem with this last year and as a result they decided that they would disregard the one paper LOR and use the 2 ELOR's that were provided.

Personally I think it is ridiculous that they would not take a paper version.

Alliecat: Nothing was missing-just 1 LOR was paper but they had everything!
I'm more frustrated than mad. I didn't know if there were someone I could appeal the decision to (or even whether to try) I feel like it was unfair but I guess rules are rules. Michigan clearly states, like Colorado, all LORS must be electronic, 1 from a vet. My vet decided he did not want to submit electronically although I asked him several times-he still submitted on paper.
My Michigan tracking page was updated last wk & said everything was complete except they only had 2 of my ELORs, so I emailed the admissions dept. to let them know my 3rd LOR was paper. I asked if they could not consider pulling forward my app from last yr because I had 3 ELORs, 1 from a vet & my vet from last yr would be willing to give permission to reuse her recommendation as new. (I was advised by schools I was waitlisted at last yr to change essays & use new recommendations this yr)
The email I got back as reply from Michigan was to the point. It simply said ,"Your file has been dismissed for not meeting requirements of 3 ELORs. Thanks."
It really frustrates me because all my stuff was in early this yr. Because of all the computer problems, the VMCAS extended the date for LORs to be submitted (though schools would not necessarily have to take them) but because I already submitted my quota of 3 people, I could not submit another name.
If nothing else, I guess I can serve as a cautionary tale to others applying-when Michigan says 3 electronic evals; they really mean it!

beaglegirl,
Mine still says my evaluations are missing-though I think they have them since everyone else does. As far as I can tell, "referred" means you are referred for evaluation which is probably just an in limbo state til they decide whether to give an interview or kick you to the curb. Last yr's students indicated their tracking pages said "referred" for a really long time.

I just now got the OSU email with the tracking page. I got supplemental on 10/08. But the tracking page still says my application is not on file yet. It better be soon 😡

My ohio state status page also lists evaluations (all vmcas elors, other schools have gotten them) and experience form as not received. However, my status still went from "Incomplete" to "Evaluation" over a week ago. Anyone know if evaluation comes before or after status referred? I got the supp. on 10/3 and they list it received on 10/9. I have put off calling to bother them about the missing items, but will probably check next week.

Kansas State: 10/26- email notification of interview on Dec. 16

congrats on the interview invite! 😀 👍

For those with the OSU supplemental questions I believe the order is this:

Evaluation
Referred
Decision

You pretty much stay at referred from the point of shortly after the supplemental until they make a decision. If you search for some old Ohio threads from last year (I actually think there is more than one) you can get some details. I've heard they were doing rolling admissions this year so I don't know if interviews will be any sooner (they started the last week in November last year and went into March).

Congrats, BostonLvr! Do you, or anyone else, know if they interview in-state candidates at K State before out of state? Or if this has any impact on interview dates at all?

Thanks.

At K-State, in state interviews are done in December and out of state interviews are done in January. Notification of out of staters occurred last year from late November to late December, I believe (and some might have been invited even later!).

🙂

Thanks! (Note to self: don't start worrying just yet. 😉)

Thanks for answering that question alliecat! 🙂 I had no idea about out of state interviews.

Thanks ri23 for clearing that up! They told me today not to worry too much about the status page as it is not really up to date (ie they had received my materials but that was not reflected on the status page). They are still receiving recs and such from VMCAS too.

Yeah, I wanted to say that that part of my status page was never updated (the recs and what not) but I wasn't positive. I actually went back and checked to see if they still had that they didn't have them even though I'm obviously attending the school, just because I thought it would be funny. Pretty much the only help the status page will be from here on out is after your interview you can check (compulsively if you're anything like me) and it will eventually change to decision (and then the there's the waiting for your letter to come in the mail).

Yeah I called today to ask about my applicaiton not even being filed on the tracking page, and the girl told me that they aren't up to date with that. They hadn't received my Elors yet either although they were all submitted before I turned in VMCAS.

She said they will definitely call and tell everyone what they are missing (if missing anything).

Well, in the interest of keeping everyone updated, I received a call from OSU this morning offering me an interview. They are starting earlier this year, the first date I was offered was Nov. 13th. They had called me yesterday telling me they didn't have my evaluations, which is crazy b/c they were with my VMCAS. Anyway, they called today and said "they must have found them b/c I'm offering you an interview!" Some of my other friends have heard from OSU...but they do a rolling admissions thing so people could be hearing all the way into the new year I'm sure. Good luck all!

Yes, it's very odd that they are doing rolling admissions this year. I wish they would have let people know earlier. Good luck!!

That is strange. I was on the first day of interviews last year and it was in December!

The frst day of interviews last year was November 27th.

When did you send in your VMCAS if you don't mind me asking? Also, are you an in-state?

I sent in my VMCAS Sept 21st or so...and I am in-state.

For OSU WV interviews I believe they have one specific day where they do them and they travel to WVU. There are 5 adcomms that go and interview I believe, as opposed to the 2 interviewers.

I just submitted my application to Tufts AHHH!! 😀

Out of curiosity, with the rolling admissions for Ohio State, does anyone know if Ohio residents will interviewed first, followed by out of state? Or maybe all mixed together? (with nothing to do but wait, I can't help but wonder these things =))

I'm not sure about the new rolling system, but they used to interview out of state and in state at the same time. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but if I had to guess, I would guess that they would still mix the OOS people with the IS people.

When I was at my OSU interview last year, they said they used to interview in-state starting in December and out-of-state after Christmas break. Last year I know they mixed it, since I was OOS and I was the first day of interviews. (There were other OOSers there too.)

not that it really matters since it seems they are doing things a little differently this year, but ohio state interviews started the last week of November last year (first day was Nov 27th, not in december)... there was a mix of in-state and out-of-state students interviewed that first week. 🙂

Whoops! It's amazing how quickly you forget those things....sorry guys! I was even trying to think of questions I was asked, and I can't remember anything other than being asked about BSE!

WSU- email today from Barbara Hodson that stated my app is complete and they will let me know of anything else after this, as they are now reviewing applications. EEEE!!!
