This thread seems to have fallen to the wayside, so I'll try to revive it!

The adcom meets tomorrow to decide on my status and I'm a little freaked out. What time should I call on Friday to find out my status? ...or should I ask in person (I work, literally, 100 yards from the admissions office)?

ooooh me too...I'm actually going to see how long I can hold out...or I'll at least wait until friends and family freak me out enough by asking "did you hear yet??" and then I'll crumble.

Just over 9 hours to go. Y'know that feeling you get in your chest when doing down a really big hill on a rollercoaster? Well, I get that feeling everytime I remember that I have to call tomorrow.

OH NO!!!!! I'm so sorry...my heart was exploding in my chest when I called Kim. I'm on hold....they're going to reevaluate in Feb, but from the way she was talking, they're pretty much completely full and just waiting to see if those extra rural program spots open up. I think we're all just out of luck. I'd be surprised to see if anyone was taken from our group that was just discussed. 👎

I'm bummed though, cause it would have been the greatest christmas present of all time! boo to this process!

Thanks guys. It's not such a tragedy, I guess. I mean, I can do a masters or graduate classes, retake the MCAT and (if I do well) get in another cycle. I'm young, have a great S.O., and strong family support. In the grand scale of things, it could be much, MUCH worse. It's strange how ready I was to let one rejection make me lose perspective.

Wow! Im really sorry you hearer of bad news people...just remember if you are 100% sure you want to go to UK, apply Early decision next fall (provided this year doesnt go well), its great for us non superstars that sometimes could fall through the cracks.

I emailed UK since I just retook the MCAT, thinking maybe they'd let me apply since they rejected me for my MCAT being too old. they said no 🙁

I'm pretty sure nobody looks at this thread any more...but did anyone else get the letter in the mail today about accepting your spot on the alternate list? I finally got that after being on hold since early October. Is it just me, or does it sound like there is very little movement on UKs waitlist?

Have you talked to Kim...is the waitlist moving? Do they rank you (Im already in, I have a few friends on the waitlist)?

I haven't spoken with Kim. What's her role in all this? Danielle told me that "things are moving"--but she didn't specify whether the class was still oversubscribed or whether they were into the alternate list.

i'm also on the waitlist at UK..i don't know if they rank you, but i do know that you aren't allowed to know your position on the list..it sucks..from what i hear i don't think there is very much movement, and i've never seen any on SDN..i have an acceptance to an out of state school but would LOVE to get off of UK's wait list and be able to pay in-state tuition..oh well. 🙁

i am a UK undergrad student, but I am from Ohio. There is a ? on the 2008-2009 sec app which states it is for out of state applicants. UK considers there undergrads in the instate pool for admissions, but not for tuition. Should I be answering this extra question on the APP.

I think you should be answering that question, but going to UK as an undergrad is a pretty big tie to KY. (Not sure if they changed the question).

If you want further clarification just give them a call. Danielle and Robin are some of the nicest admissions office staff anywhere.
