hi guys, this is my first post so hopefully it is ok to post questions here.

for the first keyhole the answer is D which I get but why couldn't it be A? is it because the hole it goes through is not long enough?

for the second keyhole, the answer is A. any help for these would be much appreciated! thanks.

Keyhole # 1:
The protruding shelf is much wider than the option that choice A gives. if you take a look at choice D, the correct answer, the protrusion is more of square and in choice A it is a compact rectangle.

Keyhole # 2:
If you take a look at the given image from the right side (i.e. side view of a cylinder), you will see that it is a rectangle. You can verify this by taking a can of food from your house and casting its shadow against a wall. you will see a rectangle. while choice A may not have jumped out right away, choice E is just riduculous. B and D are very similiar, save the placement of the semi-circles. Also, notice in our image that on the right side, the semi-circle comes to almost a point, rather that the blocky angular shape given in choices B and D. Now you are left with A and C. Choice C has an oval which is much too wide for our shape, choice A is really the only true shape which allows for the keyhole.

Hope that helped. Good luck.

Yeah I don't understand why A can't be right in the first key hole. I'm imagining the figure and it seems ok. The length of the protrusion seems the same, is it not?

Actually Dr Nat is wrong.

For Keyhole #1

it is wrong because the skinny sticking out thing is too short in option A.

lol my explanation sucked but that is why it is wrong 🙂

I just took a ruler to the screen, and protrusion in A is just one millimeter shorter then in the question. It doesn't seem obvious at first glance 😕

yea its ridiculous how small difference matters huh? but it does. Especially in angle section.

but yea for that question im sure that is the reason why its wrong. im pretty confident caz i got 3 questions wrong on the PAT section and it wasnt from the key hole part
