All those have been accepted or those who have sound knowlege of university requirements/heard stories of such stats getting accepted...kindly guide me..Im in a total confused state
My Stats...

Part 1 score composite-86
Gpa-2.34🙁
toefl...just given today.

Im confused what to do next?Which universities can i apply with this?Upenn,UCSF all require above 2.5...the only thing i know definitely is USC

Do i take part 2?some are saying to go ahead with part 2.if so, what are the universities which accept both parts?I know tufts and few others...but have seen few ppl accepted at tufts have both 90 and 3 plus gpa...

Nebraska and few others need Mph so basically i confused what universities can i apply?

Do i retake part1...lots of ppl are advicing since my gpa is a black mark.But considering the varied composite scores relative to raw scores..is it advisable to take part 1?im ready to retake..its not a problem..but worried what if my score drops down...its so unreliable now...if its needed or rather no hope,i'll do it.Please frankly (i wont feel bad) as i need to work on what to do next.

Hey Rose82,

Try and talk to your evaluator and clarify that your score from back home are according to the person who has got the highest also explain to them that this GPA might not help u with the admission process though i have heard people getting into univ with low GPA but they have scored really well in their exam (thats another way to try ...prepare urself for 90's). But overall its just an effort you need to make .... might just help you either ways..

@kash...do u think that will work?can they really do it?that wud be really a relief even if it goes above 2.5...

if not,i think i have to retake...the only thing is i have seen some ppl getting about 5 marks more than me..but getting 85.thats scary for me.i wonder how they do this scoring...another case of 2 ppl getting 320,but 1 gets 88,another 87.
i have 2 options...either retake part 1
or take part 2 with this and do MpH...that wud take me another 3 yrs to get to the admission itself..ha!

Hey Rose82,

Don't lose hope its just one phone call that you need to make. It can make your situation better. I have heard a case like this. As per exam is concerned your score looks decent but because of GPA u can retake. Talk to the evaluator first.

Hi Kash,
I am actually facing a similar problem with a low GPA.Can we actually speak to our evaluator? Could you tell anything more about it,that is how to go about it. ; that would help a lot.

Hi pandu,
As i wrote earlier in your evaluation , the name of your evaluator is given. Try and call them tell them the grades that u get is according to highest pecentage. See they do talk to you. I know some who did talk to them and it worked.

i spoke to the advisor but to no avail. they said thier scale is set and it is given on the back of the paper and they have to do it through that only. they cant change it as long as there is no mistake on the evaluation

Hi Guys,

I am trying to help you. I know this because one of my friends did it and it was recent not a year back. You need to clearly explain to your evaluator about the grading according to the highest percentage in our schools. If possible find a friend from ur old school who got the almost the same score as you ...and has got a better GPA. You can ask for their file no. If you can provide this information to your evaluator ...certainly they ll help you.

Thanks a lot kash.its the support of members like you that gives hope to others.i was actually thinking to get a reference ..but i didnt know how....thats why i was waiting.coz i had read such a thing sometime back and it worked for one person,and didnt work for another.guess i have to search for someone.god bless!
