I am a kinesiology major and I am taking courses like biomechanics and other health related courses. I was wondering if those type of courses were counted in my science GPA. Especially the courses like biomechanics that have physics and biology as the base of the information. Does anyone know?

You may want to check the AADSAS website.

Hey I'm a Kinesiology Major too and yes - courses like Biomechanics, Exercise and Health Phys, Mind Sciences, Prevention of Injury, etc. all count towards your Science GPA. Some even count towards your BCP. Hope that helped.

I'm also a kinesiology major. I knew that they counted towards overall science, but which ones go towards BCP. I figured since all my kinesiology courses are labeled "kin ###" it would automatically go under overall science. Which ones did AADSAS count as BCP?

I actually graduated LSU in Kines, and am in DDS school right now. And no, the Kines classes do not count towards Science GPA. In fact, those courses pretty much pad the GPA, so I would recommend adding Biology, Chemistry minors to get not only the required courses, but a little more science background.

Not to completely knock the Kines degree, but it was/is relatively elementary compared to Biochem, Molecular Biology, Organometallics, Vert Phys, etc. The Admission's committees like to see as many of these courses on your transcript as possible to make up for the simplistic Kines courses. Hope this helps!
