Has anyone tried these series'? I have heard good things about KISSPharm and I really liked the sample video but I know they haven't been around as long as DIT. I hated the DIT videos and wondered if the Solid Series Pharmacology were delivered the same way. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Preparing for Step 1 at the end of this month!

i got a look at the solid pharm series and they are waaaaay too detailed. I mean 50 mins of lecture on antiarrthymics it was way too much. Kiss pharm on the other hand is better imo it's straight to the point and is a good review just to keep drugs fresh in your head. However i think your best bet for pharm is just reading FA. There are extra hy points in FA and in uworld qbank that are not mentioned in kisspharm and he seems to just whiz through the drugs, especially the cns drug section which was very incomplete. stick to FA and qbank. if you want a quick review or a daily reminder then go with kisspharm, although you'll be fine without. stay away from solid series unless you have a yr till you take step 1.

I used it during second year and found it really helpful. Memorizing abstract names is probably one of the hardest things I have to do. What I would do is print out all the kisspharm powerpoints that go along with each lecture. During study time, I would watch kisspharm and take active notes. Then I would study the actual text book (Brenner's for my school). It definitely helped. Unfortunately, my pharm professor was a left over from the paleolithic who would regale us with stories of what it was like practicing psychiatry before atypical antipsychotics were developed. (Yes he was that old. class of 74). My teacher did like to focus on a lot of tiny minutae some of which wasn't in the text book.
Anywho, I did find the course really helpful. Having the names and class MOA's down is really helping me out now for the step. My pharm score in uworld is consistently in the 70's.

what's the point of using any material except kaplans because all we know that the best is dr.turco and and let's say in pharm is dr.harris and dr.raymon. Inventing new bicycle? It's like using anything other than pathomas video's for pathology considering the fact that his videos are way better and way more high yield than others. Just stick to most common materials and you will do great. Anyway people from kaplan (any of them) has a minimum of 15 years of experience teaching med students that subjects, doesn't this make sense? It's like to be operated by a 50 years old professors vs 32 years old associate newly taken his boards. I guess that 50 year old doctor will do less mitakes, and it's jsut logical, just logical ...
