I was looking at UB's pre reqs and for some courses such as Physics and Microbiology it says that the labs are optional. Does this mean that you only have to attend lecture and take the tests?

Also can someone take a look at these classes and tell me if it possible to complete them in 2 years and maintain a gpa of 3.5 (assuming you are a fulltime student and not working).

Yes it is possible to maintain a 3.5. Whether or not you can do it in 2 years is debatable. I didn't have to take physiology or micro in undergrad, but I did have to take physics II. If you wanted to do it all in 2 years plus any general education courses you need, it certainly would be a full and difficult schedule. Try to plan it out with an adviser and what you would need to take and when to get it done in 2 years. You may need to take some summer courses for the 2 years to be possible, I'm not sure. When it says lab optional that means you don't need to sign up for it (when you register for class, don't register for the lab portion) and no you don't need to go. Good luck!

Why would you want to do them in two years? Quality over quantity is the thing to keep in mind.

If you're looking to get in after two years, you'll need a lot better than a 3.5. Everyone I know of that got in after two years (which is even more rare now than what it was then) had either a 4.0 or damn near a 4.0.

He/She's looking into the 2 year thing because of early assurance
