Hi everyone, I have a question about my PI LOR. I have been doing research with him for around 2.5 years, and I have also taken a developmental biology course with him which was graded. So my question is will this LOR be seen as one out of the two letters I need from science professors, or will it be seen as a PI LOR and I need to look for two more science professors LOR? Thanks in advance.

You can choose which one to count it for. In my experience, a PI outside of the College of Science will count as a non-science rec letter unless they have taught a science course for you. It may be different for other schools.

Just ask that the letter writer speak to your abilities as a student in the class you took and the work you did in the lab. You do not need to find an additional letter.

Doesn't matter, just apply it towards one of those totals and find another one for the other.
