I have the chance to engage in long term project (3 or 4 years, depending on whether I take 1 off), but this is working in a semi-basic science lab (mixture of basic science with strong and direct application to ortho). I also have the opportunity to engage in clinical research, mostly RCR. The former may not yield as many papers as the latter. Any suggestions?

P.S Both are at the same institution.

Do both.

Former is the long game, low burning and steady; the latter you will have short stints with a lot of work in between research questions with periods of just waiting.
