Hello,

I was looking through secondaries earlier today. I previously thought one of my social sciences courses would count for a prerequisite at a university that has an atypical requirement, but an admissions advisor at this university said it would not fulfill the requirement. This is unfortunate; this uni was one of my top choices. I graduated from college and I don't want to take another year off to take a course at a community college.

I have already submitted my AADSAS and I designated this school as a selection. Do I have any other options to remediate this issue? If it matters, my application hasn't been verified or mailed yet. ...and yes, I am feeling somewhat dumb for not checking the prerequisites for this school beforehand (a sociology requirement for dental school?)

You could wait until dec 1st to see what acceptances you get and if you still want to go to that school. If so, just take that course in the spring. If not, just enjoy your time off.

I did that for one school I was interested in. Got wait listed and thankfully didn't take the course.
