Forgive me if this has already been answered but I didn't find it in any threads. I'm trying to figure out my last 45 hour gpa. In the last semester that would make it a little more than the 45 hours, I have a class that I had retaken.. it was a 4 hour class and I got a C in it the first time, then retook it and got a B, giving me 4 more credit points to my gpa. Now my question is, when calculating the last 45 hours, would this class be counted twice (as in the repeated class getting counted as 4 additional hours and 16 credits) or would only the 4 credits be added to the total points, or would it be left out completely? I hope this makes sense.. I know it's been confusing for me, but depending on how it's counted makes a huge difference in last 45 hour gpa (like between a 3.0 and 3.5). 😕

Thanks for your help.

I'll try to answer this as simply (and correctly!) as possible... I believe that both attempts are counted, especially if the course was a pre-req. As far as A&M goes, admissions only counts traditionally graded courses in the last 45.

Does my answer suit? I can try and elaborate if need be. 😳

I know for the cumulative GPA both attempts are counted... but in this case the first attempt was a year before the semester in which the 2nd attempt was (which falls under the last 45 hours). So if I'm understanding you correctly, the 2nd attempt wouldn't be counted in the last 45, right? only the courses which weren't a repeat and i earned X-amount of hours and X-amount of credits would be included.

If the 2nd attempt falls in the last 45 hours, then it should be counted. The first attempt would not be. I assume. Nothing is stated specifically on TMDSAS or on A&M's CVM site. If you really want to be certain, then I would contact Yolanda. She would be able to give you the most accurate answer.

And if you do contact her, let me know what she says, as I'm curious too! :}

Yeah, and nothing is stated about that type of situation in any other school's website as far as I can tell.. I emailed A&M and Kansas, just waiting to hear back. I'll let you know whenever I get an answer.
