"Late Interviews"

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I would say anything March and after. Most schools have their classes filled by March.

I had three interviews in February, resulting in two acceptances. I doubt that many schools interview for the waitlist. It is too easy to fill the waitlist. Ad Coms have better things to do than waste their time interviewing for the waitlist. If you are granted an interview, you probably have a chance to be accepted.

It really depends on the school. Some will still have spots available to people on the last interview day, some won't. I would say March and after is a "late" interview, but people do get in then too. And some schools are non-rolling and interview all of their candidates before accepting any of them, though most are rolling.

no way. feb-march.

I agree. If that's the case, then I should reject any interviews I get next year, which is, of course, possible, considering how late I submitted my application (Mid-september). =="

Yeah, if January interviews are waitlist interviews, then I'm just completely screwed.

... so whether or not that's true, I'm going to go with the folks who are saying Feb/March is late and just hope for some earlier interviews. 👍

It is impossible to make blanket statements like this. Every school is different!

Raigon, I would hope you wouldn't reject ANY interview invites until you have an acceptance you're satisfied with.

I didn't want to bother you with a PM, tacrum43, but maybe you'll see this:

Your MPapp profile is so INSPIRING! I saw you transition through a whole year of hell and hope in a matter of minutes lol. It almost made me want to cry at the end with pride, pride for the stranger who I felt I knew so well...

Great story 🙂

Thanks. Glad you liked it. 😳

You know, I haven't read what I wrote on MDApps for a long time and it's funny looking at now if from a different perspective. Gosh, I was so anxious back in the day and I think I read *way* too much into every little thing. But I guess it makes it entertaining at least. Lol. The other thing that's hilarious is that I specifically mentioned that I didn't want to do primary care, but now I'm planning on going into it.

But yeah, it's tough being pre-med, and I wish all the best to everyone applying this year!
