Even though it's not late night, I'm really interested in infectious disease, honestly. It's a lower paying specialty but I find it extremely interesting.

Also, emergency medicine is pretty freakin' sweet, too. It was be awesome to do a combined IM/EM residency then get my ID fellowship after that😀.
 
Not really sure if I would specialize, I kinda like the relationships built between patient and doctor in primary care (based on my shadowing experience). If I had to choose a specialty though, would prob pick Anesthesiology. Why? No idea.. kinda intrigued by it.



Things I would NOT want to do: OB/GYN. Really not looking forward to that, at all.

Yeah. I'd imagine it would be difficult for a male Ob/Gyn to be romantic with the Miss's after a long day at work.
 
While I know for sure I don't want to do OB-Gyn either, I do have to say, it's really a beautiful profession. I shadowed an OB-Gyn...seeing that baby come into this world, and the warm feelings from the patients towards their doctors was priceless. I have mucho respect for those ob-gyns! 👍

You're right! I suppose like with everything else, it takes a special person to do it.

On another note... I made some coconut cookies today. I've gotten into cooking to fill the science void in my heart. It sucks having graduated already. I miss science!

I want winter to come already... I'm dying to bust out my winter clothes and drink some hot chocolate and marshmellows!

Agreed. Have you ever used Coco-Motion? It is the most magical hot chocolate experience in the world (and yes, I did say "magical") You can literally put anything you want in the machine and it makes hot chocolate out of it. Peanut butter, mint chocolate chip ice cream, slices of pumpkin pie...anything you can conceive would taste good in your hot chocolate, Coco-Motion will do it.

So I just sent in my deposit to LECOM and I must say, it feels weird knowing that I'm going to be living in the eastern US. I am especially scared of New York...everything I've learned from Law and Order: SVU tells me to avoid it unless I want to get sexually assaulted and/or murdered.

I love that show. If you're going by the show though, unless you are a woman or a friend of a drug dealer, you're in the clear.

True. I stopped watching this new season when I realized Detective Stabler isn't coming back to the show. He's my hero.

I'm watching the new episode of House right now... omg. Please help me. That new girl (Charlyne Yi I think is her name) is going to ruin the season. Horrible actress...

Don't do this David Shore. Don't ruin the last season with this girl. Please make her character die or something.

I haven't watched it yet but she cant be as bad as Masters was last season. She was terrible.

Actually, she's a ton worse. The actress who played Masters was actually a decent actress, and she has a personality and a decent character. She was a lesser version of Cameron.

The new one is just... bland, and annoying.

How dare you compare Masters to Cameron...shame on you 🙂. Masters was a bumbling, annoying, naive character....I'll be able to form an opinion about the new girl as soon as I watch the new episode after monday night football.

I said she was a LESSER version! Meaning she had morals and was smart. You can't beat Cameron though... she was awesome.

I miss the original crew of foreman chase and cameron. Taub is cool though. 13's character gets kind of annoying and overly-dramatic. She's one of those... you're too good looking to take seriously, kind of people.

So I just watched the new episode. I like how this season is starting out. I agree that the new doc is kinda mousy and not a great actress...but I don't find her nearly as annoying as Masters. I like Foreman as the dean of medicine though.
 
i get to watch that show tomorrow on some illegal website in grenada. although where i live on campus just got switched to new york servers so ive been watching craig ferguson all night on cbs.com since we can now.
 
Terra Nova for the win!....so lets start a pool on how many seasons it takes until they confuse everyone like they did for lost...i say itll take them 3 seasons then suddenly people will be going back and forth in time and confuse the heck out of everyone 😛

I tried to get into terra nova... doesn't seem too exciting for me. And the animations for the dinosaurs are horrible. You can tell how digitized it is. Compare terra nova to something like Jurassic park (which came out in like 1990). The dinosaur animations for JP were so realistic compared to terra nova, even though it came out over 20 years ago.

Just my opinion. 🙂

My bet is that Terra Nova won't make it past its first season. Fox loves to premier new series then dump them after (or during) the first season.
 
anyone start watching the new show, Hart of Dixie?
 
Terra Nova is pretty interesting, I like it so far. Surprising since 95% of Fox shows suck (not counting Simpsons, Family Guy of course). I think it might last two seasons on Fox, but I think the show is already being syndicated on SciFi. So if it fails on Fox, I think Sci Fi will pick it up.

I might have to check out the pilot of Terra Nova based on your recommendation. I'm sure it will be sweet, I'll get hooked, then FOX will cancel it.
 
AntsMarching, I just thought I should tell you that I destroyed this giant ant hill in my front lawn this morning. They were swarming EVERYWHERE on the driveway and I saw a bunch of them in the house... so I followed them back to their home and took care of business.

I know this pains you... and I apologize. :laugh:

Don't know if I like the new format of SDN. Let’s just hope that they don’t start behaving like facebook and constantly keep changing it.

Yeah I was thinking that too lol. It looks like it's back to the standard SDN color scheme though. If any admins are reading this, keep it like this! Premeds can't adapt to change well. 😛

the soap opera pretending to be a gritty third world medical drama? Yea right. It never had a chance. Go watch Boston Med, or pony up and get into Grey's with your gf. House is just too unbelievable and so predictable, it's a shame it has to follow the same formula every single episode of every single season..

Also, if you guys have showtime check out the show Homeland, it's legit. Probably the best new show of the year. It's got Major Winters from Band of Brothers and Claire Danes, both amazing actors and a serious supporting cast. Trailer.


Edit: I checked out the 2hr premiere of Terra Nova, and it's okay. Just wish they would use less dinasaurs and predictable plot elements and make it a more character-driven drama. There is a lot of promise with the premise (Avatar + Jurassic Park + Lost, sounds fantastic on paper), just hope that they tighten it up a bit and realize it's potential. But, like all good shows, Fox will pull the plug just as it gets good.

Be fair, pretty much every TV show is formulaic....which is why they become successful TV shows.
 
I don't know if anyone watches the League on FX but it is pretty epic, I also like Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Archer.

On a different note I wish Texas would offer pre-matches October 15th like OOS schools instead of November 15th. But I have been staying occupied watching tons of TV and college football.
