I received an e-mail from Tufts informing me that I had been selected for an interview, but the reply deadline was Jan. 24 4:00pm. I was bogged down the past two weeks, and did not check my e-mail until the evening of Jan. 24. Their letter states that my application will be withdrawn, and that no exceptions can be made. Of course I will be calling them first thing in the morning tomorrow to discuss my problem, but does anyone have any other thoughts on how to proceed?

Thanks in advance.

Dude! What the heck were you doing that you were too busy to be worrying ABOUT WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE?!! I can't help but think that you could've been a little more worried about dental schools to be checking your email...at least once a week!! In that respect, it doesn't look too good. However, I can see if you were having families issues or something that that could have prevented you from...well...umm...what the heck were you thinking? Why didn't you just check your email?!!!

Sorry, I guess I had to be hard on you because I check my email & SDN like 20 times a day so it's so bizarre seeing a predent not biting his fingers like me about hearing back from schools. I would just call them and explain them your situation and that you really would like to interview there. They are really nice people and I can't imagine them not cutting you a break. Good luck! :luck:.

Hohenheim8,
this is simply excusable. If you knew beforehand that making that Jan 24th deadline was going to be tough, you should have contacted Tufts BEFORE that date for an extension. I've been rejected at Tufts but at least I went to the interview. I don't consider myself to be good at interviews. This is simply a forfeit of your potential spot in class. Don't make this mistake ever again. It shows that your not as serious to pursue dentistry if you can't even set aside a couple of minutes to even notify them in a timely fashion.

Did you even read his post? It's not like he waited until it was too late, knowing that the deadline was Jan 24th - he just didn't know that he even had an interview invite. And, I think you meant to say inexcusable.

Yeah,
thanks for the correction😳
He should have checked his status. Heck I have 14-15hr work days practically every week but that doesn't stop me from checking my status.

I check my email obsessively. Even though I will be in some safari in african country of Uganda. I shall check my email.
