Can someone differentiate these two laws? They just always seem similar to each other and keep getting confused no matter how many times I read them. Both deal with anaphase and splitting randomly?
Someone correct me if I am wrong but from my understanding law of segregation is that each gamete will contain an allele for a certain characteristic (for this example say hair color). Law of independent assortment states that other chromosomes will not affect the hair color allele (unless linked genes) during separation after lining up at the metaphase plate. Does that make sense?
