leadership skills

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Have you ever shadowed a pharmacist?

Leadership will help you get you, your laterals, and your subordinates into work on time. It'd help motivate them to do their job and do it well. It'll help you discipline them (subordinates) when you need to do so, and leadership will help your subordinates avoid situations where discipline will be required. Effective leadership will result in a more harmonious and efficacious work place. We all need it, and the higher up you go the better at it you should be. Unfortunately, my boss has none of it and can offend people just by looking at them so most people avoid him like the plague. It doesn't come naturally with rank. I've had to learn it. You've got to work towards it. If I recall it being defined somewhere it was something like "social influence that helps you get others to help you and them together accomplish a task."

In real life pharmacy work situations, when would you need leadership skills? Would you even need leadership skills in retail? Just wondering...

Seriously? The answer to the question "In real life situations, when would you need leadership skills?" is "ALL THE TIME." What do you think pharmacists are? Robots?

I don't think you've offended anyone. Leadership is crucial for success in the workplace whether your a pharmacist or a garbageman.

Or a truck driver.

LOL...seriously it should be a no brainer that you will need leadership skills in every facet of life. Some people are born with it and others learn it.
