At my school we do not use the systems based approach. In order to review for step 1 and just learn the material using a different approach/organization/view I would like to at least review/learn the material using the systems based approach (personally) [in addition to our approach of course]. What is the best way of doing this?

I know I won't have all the time in the world. Are there review books just organized in a systems manner? Like a renal module review book, etc.

Most of First Aid is organized by system.

thanks for the reply.

You know how there is a BRS for each discipline? Is there something like that (more detailed than first aid) for systems? Or just First Aid pretty much?

There probably is only just First Aid because I think my curriculum is more "traditional" and the shelf exams are "traditional" sciences.

Why don't you just take sections from each type of review book and study the systems that way?

For example, if you're doing cardio, study the cardio phys from BRS phys, cardio path from Robbins/Goljan, cardio pharm from lippincotts, etc...

Thanks I can probably do that. Since I haven't really opened any books for year 2 (other than pharm) it just didn't come to mind.
