So after a rough night last night I got to thinking around 330 am as a community hospital private practice anesthesiologist what was my least favorite organ. I asked some of the guys this morning while we were drinking some coffee before our 730 am starts and I got a multitude of answers. If I knew how to create a poll I would. At my previous job is was 100% the uterus but as I have moved away from a place that had a 99% epidural rate it has slowly become the appendix. I work close to multiple colleges and military bases and we seem to have at least two a night sometimes many more. Blaz

Those would be my top two as well. Number three would be the thyroid. Medication allows people to live perfectly fine without thyroids. If a goiter forms, it can cause problems with the airway, swallowing, and may even require thoracic surgery to remove.

The rest of the woman attached to the vagina.

ESWL's are my least favorite of ALL cases. It's loud and terribly annoying.... or anything past 10:00pm.

The broad on the far right is positively svelte compared to the other whales. The other three probably give her s_hit and call her "skinny" and "anorexic" and what not.

I hate the brain.

We only have a vague sense of our anesthetics affect it.

It only needs a little bit of time without oxygen to start dying. How needy!

And finally, 90% of the guys that operate on the brain are megalomaniacal, micromanaging *****holes.

Im gonna go with the eye ball. Hate the eye ball. I hate giving 0.5mg of versed to a 80 year old for a cataract then doing nothing but charting. Even more so, i hate doing optho cases on call. Where I am at the attendings dont come in, its just fellows. And I dont know where they find these fellows, but holly crap they are awful. Cases that usually take 30 minutes take 6 hrs. Thats not an exaggeration.

Kidney. Super sensitive and lets everyone know it's unhappy. So many of the treatments people do to protect it are useless, yet done anyway. It also was the cause of the majority of my intern year pages 'FYI UOP 13.5 mL past hour. Thank you"
