Hey everybody

For my interview at Eastern Virginia, interviews are done in the morning. Then, there is lunch and a tour. They said they'd be done at 2:30. I'd like to catch a flight - so, would it be bad if I said I had to leave a little early? Honestly, with that schedule, I'm guessing we'll be done before 2:30 anyway.

What do you think?

I saw someone do this at one of my interviews last year. Everyone was polite about it, but after she left comments were made about poor planning among other things. I wouldn't plan on leaving early, especially if this is one of your top choices, it just looks like you're not interested.

I had the same worry, especially as the scheduling of certain interviews is making for tight scheduling.

As a counterpoint though, I have been told by numerous program coordinators (who sit in the post-interview evaluation session) that applicants leaving early in order to get to another interview are not seen in a negative light.

Just my uninformed two cents.
