yeah...i've gotten a little nostalgic and i'm definately gonna miss california but i think these next four years in philly will be great and the time will just pass like the blink of an eye....I can't wait to explore the east coast.... we'll be doctors in no time! :)

Ala,

I believe you will be one of my classmates at NoVA!! Am I correct?

Yes, I felt homesick at first and still have those moments. Im coming from Michigan so it will be a big change for me especially since this is the first time I will be living away from my family. I think the best thing for you to do is take a trip down to your school (NOVA) and take another look around and get a little familiar with the area or look for a place to live if you have not already. I did that this past week and I feel so much better about leaving now. It pumped me up and now I cannot wait to leave!

This home sick thing is pretty crazy! I met this girl last year at Marquette dental who was just about to start her first year. She's from LA, CA and she complaint about Milwaukee, WI all summer long. She cried (literately) about being home sick, missing her friends, boyfriend, family, blah, blah, blah. I was sympathic at first, but after her continuously bitched and moaned about how she hated Milwaukee, WI and that she had to be there because Marquette was the only dental school that she got into, I wanted to smack her across the face to shut her up!! She also said over and over, "I'm leaving next year, I'm leaving next year!", "I'm transfering after my first year, I'm transfering!" Girl, SHUT UP!!! Man, I can't stand her!

Bottom line, it's perfectly fine to miss home, but try not to go overboard. Your classmates will be irritated, I guarantee!! Hopefully you all will enjoy your individual dental schools enough where it will be your second home.

As for me, leaving home is a bit sad and I'll miss my "rents" much, but I CAN'T WAIT to be down in FL for my dental education. Home sick you ask? Naaaaah, not so much....maybe "morning sickness" from hangovers!!

I wish you all happiness because being uplifted will contribute a lot to your academic success! I've said it many times, it's great to pick a dental school that has a great academic reputation, but if you're not happy there, then that reputation it's not worth your time or money!!!

Iam a bit sad that I'll be leaving Canada soon( esp now that its gonna be summer) & will have to stay alone ( I hate that), but SF being a great city & the school will take up most of the time. So I think we'll get past the home sickness pretty soon ( hopefully).

I am going to be a bit homesick. I have lived in Cincinnati all my life and moving to NYC makes me a bit nervous. But, I am ready for dental school to begin!

I don't blame her for hating Wisconsin. I mean, who would want to live in the same state that is home of the Packers? Hahahaha. Just kidding.

Yah_E,

Why do you have to be so darn opinionated? It seems you have an answer for every question. You should definitely consider a career on journalism or politics!

Two tumbs down for you!

Stomatologist:

He may be opinionated, but he's got the right football team. Miami, FL? Dolphin fan? Pretty tough to see Wandsted go, but we still have

Ditttttttttttttttttka

Stomato,

Yeah, I'm not going to deny that those whinning people irritate me and I'm sure I'm not the only one. My philosophy is if you're going to do it, then don't bitch about it and if you want to bitch about it, then don't do it!

As for your two thumbs down, oh well, I can't win them all, right?!

Jeff, I'm already planning on to go to the Bears vs Dolphins games. One pre-season and one Monday Night game in December in Miami at the Pro-Player Stadium!

Ok guys,

About the football? Lets see!

About the opinions? Too much!

About the hangovers? Southbeach is cool, but the exams will call you! Unless you want to end up with Ds of DMD.

About the girls (from previous post)? 'careful, AIDS incidence in South Fla, is too much to handle!

See ya....

Stomato,

Just out of curiousity, do you go to dental school right now? U of F? Are you a first year or will you be a first year, class of 2006?

definitely I have already started to feel that .Going frm VA to NY makes me little scared .But as I have already made a good friend :) [one who lives in NY and will be my class mate] and some seniors in the college I dont think we'll feel home sick. Its gonna be exciting I'll bet!

It's about time the Bears got some Monday Night coverage.

Pi-guy,
No, the Bengals rule... haha!!

aren't they gonna have that tv rule where they can change the monday night schedule like a week or so before in order to get the best match-up on monday night?

Ala,

Anything to help out a future classmate. Just email me or PM me or if you like just post your question on our class web page and we can go from there.
