Greetings so I am a Florida resident and im having trouble deciding where I should go for med school. What would you guys do? Thanks in advanced!
note: have paid the deposit at LECOM but not at CUSOM yet

LECOM

PROS:
  • 1 hour from home
  • $32k tuition
  • good match list
  • will potentially get to room with study partner from masters program who is also accepted

CONS:
  • vibes feel like a Dr factory (personal impression)
  • staff don’t seem to care about students as much
  • clinical rotations may not be in 1 place
  • PBL might be miserable in the beginning (usually study off the slides not the book)
  • no food or drink in facilities

CUSOM

PROS:
  • beautiful facility, better vibes
  • staff seems to really care about students
  • Systems based curriculum (no pbl)
  • location is great for outdoor activities (hiking, snowboarding)
  • established clinical rotation sites
CONS:
  • super rural
  • $47k tuition
  • 9 hours from home
  • Quizzes every week

Financially, LECOM. However, there is more to life than money. You seem like you would be happier at Campbell. Best of luck in your decision

Which did you choose? I have paid the deposit at LECOM, same type of assessment as you. But I just got an email from CUSOM. Trying to decide if the travel amount will be worth it (live in WA state right now).
