My class was in person. If I was online I would have saved myself the 20k+ in loans and just stayed home. Self discipline is worth that moneyDid you find it helpful to live near campus even though classes are online?

I'm from Florida near Bradenton and I can say that it is very expensive to live there even on your own. I toured LECOM Bradenton and a lot of people who go there live like 45 minutes away because it is somewhat cheaper than living dead center of Bradenton. The tour guide even said that a lot of students do get roommates to offset the cost anyway because of the higher rates in Florida. It's one of the most expensive states to live in by cost. My dad has been a realtor for 30+ years in Florida so he straight up tells me these things. Try looking towards Tampa or St Petersburg if you don't mind a commute just to see if it is cheaper. Are apartments expesnive around the area?
What do you mean by this? LECOM had nearly a 100% match rate to residencies this year. I know some people that go there. The school has strict rules but the medical curriculum is great. This is atleast what I heard. If anyone is thinking about doing this program, PLEASE apply to other medical and dental schools as well. Especially medical schools. You may discover that you just do not like how the medical school is run. Give yourself options. With the USMLE now pass fail the type of education you receive may be more important than ever.
Its not about the type of education. Its about having opportunities that this school, and most DO schools do not provide. But if we had the chance to go to an MD school we would have. What do you mean by this? LECOM had nearly a 100% match rate to residencies this year. I know some people that go there. Education is what you make it. But, the thing is, what LECOM just doesn't have is direct affiliation with hospitals. They are a newer school system so their alumni network isn't as big. Research isn't that big at the Bradenton campus. Yes, LECOM does have people that match into neurosurgery, some in derm, some in radiology, but part of school is the experience you get. You may simply not enjoy the experience you get at LECOM. If it's the only place you get a chance at, then you go. If you have options, you weigh those options and what is best for you. Don't put your entire future into one school by not applying elsewhereWhat do you mean by this? LECOM had nearly a 100% match rate to residencies this year. I know some people that go there. Most DO schools when it comes to opportunities. There are exceptions. And even a few MD schools but just being MD makes it much better than even the best DO school in terms of matching. If you have the option, go with a school with no attendance requirement and a different curriculum than PBL. PBL is generally more annoying. But at the end of the day, I don’t mind PBL and after 4 years I’ll be matching somewhereIs this true of all DO schools or just LECOM?
Does anyone know when orientation and/or the first day of classes starts for the 2021-2022 academic year?
Thank you!!!July 26th
I'm still waiting to hear back from other programs I applied to, but if I end up going to LECOM I do plan on moving! I'd like to take advantage of Florida residency if I end up matriculating after MMS.is anyone moving there?
I submitted my application mid-December, received the same email you did in early January saying that the committee reviewed my application but a decision hasn’t been made yet. Late January (about 6 weeks after applying), I received an email saying a decision has been made and then I received my letter in the mail about 5 days after that! Double check to make sure they have received all of your documents, otherwise the committee won’t make a decision until they’re all in!How long did you guys wait to go from “under review” to “a decision has been made”? Is it a bad thing if I got an email saying that the admissions committee met to review my application but didn’t make a decision?

Had anyone been accepted to this program with the contingency that they receive a higher DAT score before the interview?
Yep there has. And there have been people that got great GPAs in the masters who didn't get a decent score on the DAT and ultimately did not get accepted into dental school. Take the DAT before the program and get a 19 minimum. Do not waste your money or 10 months of grueling study in the masters for nothingHad anyone been accepted to this program with the contingency that they receive a higher DAT score before the interview?
Is there a forum for Lecom MMS (Lake Erie) 2021-2022?
Hey,July 26th
EDIT: My bad guys this date is for the medical school. MMS will start earlier than this. First week of July is when I started the MMS.
The class started with about 120 of us, and an even split of pre-dental and pre-medical students. I believe 48 or so of us in the medical track interviewed. I have no idea how many got accepted/wait-listed because they haven't told us. I want to say 15-20 of us got accepted post interview (this is a complete estimation), and the rest have been waitlisted. I do expect more acceptances after the spring semester ends though.Hey,
Do you know how many people from your MMS class actually interviewed for the DO program? How many of those got accepted/rejected?
Thanks.
Can I please direct message you for additional questions? The class started with about 120 of us, and an even split of pre-dental and pre-medical students. Yep! This was taken from their website:Is an MCAT or Academic Index Score (AIS) needed for admission into the Master's program?
I believe that's for the College of Medicine?Yep! This was taken from their website:
1) DAT scores for those interested in the School of Dental Medicine
2) MCAT scores for those interested in the College of Medicine
3) in lieu of MCAT scores only, LECOM may use an Academic Index Score (AIS) that uses undergraduate and any graduate GPA in a formula calculation with ACT and/or SAT Critical Reading and Math scores.
I believe that's for the College of Medicine?
I called LECOM and asked about this, and they said we don't need an MCAT or AIS for admission into the Masters program but will need to submit the MCAT by the end of the year to be guaranteed an interview.Same for MMS. 40th percentile MCAT or 110+ AIS if things haven’t changed

It is going to be online.Hi!! I just got accepted into this program yesterday. Do you guys think it will be online still? I know a lot of colleges are going back to normal operations in the fall.
I would not be surprised if the school expands class size and keeps it online permanentlyIt is going to be online.
Hey, I just got accepted myself. Is it stated somewhere that it is going to be online? I didn't see anything about that in the acceptance letter. It is going to be online.
Both are separate programs. You won't get dropped from the alternate list. Most people apply to MMS as back up if DO doesn't workout. I think it's a bad idea to wait till last minute to apply to MMS because it doesn't hurt to have a back up ready just in case you don't get off the waitlist.Hello, prospective MMS student here. I am currently on the alternate list for the DO program at Erie, but want to attend the MMS program if I am not accepted. Would you recommend applying for MMS before hearing a final decision, or wait for a decision to be made on my DO alternate position. I am afraid I will just be dropped from the alternate list if I apply for MMS. Any advice is appreciated!

Can I ask how long it took you to get a decision back?Hi!! I just got accepted into this program yesterday. Do you guys think it will be online still? I know a lot of colleges are going back to normal operations in the fall.
my file was complete 3/3 and classified as "under review". A decision was made on 3/12 according to the applicant portal and I received my letter of acceptance 3/17.Can I ask how long it took you to get a decision back?

Hi, do you know what the class schedule will be like for this program? Will classes be held at certain times during the day or will it be in the afternoon/evenings like Eerie MMS? Thanks. They don't state it in the acceptance letter but once you make all the payments they will send you more information regarding the program. I already spoke to admissions and they said that the program is 100% online

When your LECOM portal status changed to "a decision has been made on your application", did you receive an acceptance email or just a letter in the mail?Hello everyone, current MMS student here. I will be more than happy to answer any questions about the program.
When your LECOM portal status changed to "a decision has been made on your application", did you receive an acceptance email or just a letter in the mail?
When did you submit the other stuff? I've been completed since March 14th and still have not received a single thing.Pre-dental student here. I submitted the last of my materials (a photo copy of my driver's license) on April 6th and just saw the
Hoping for good news in my mailbox soon

Could you explain why you said that? Are you a med student at LECOM-b?This is just a friendly reminder that if you do attend this program, especially if you're going for med school, apply to other schools as well. Yes the application will cost money and it will suck, but you may hate PBL.
