Hi all.
IF YOU VOTE, THEN PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY YOU CHOSE THAT PARTICULAR SCHOOL IN A COMMENT. THANK YOU!
Now let me get right to it:
LECOM (Erie location, LDP pathway)
Pros:
1. Cheap cheap cheap ($34k tuition and cost of living very low too).
2. Good stats
- Good COMLEX scores
-Good match rates, specialties, and locations
Cons:
1. Crappy administration and petty rules
- Mandatory lectures
- Mandatory uniforms in lecture and in building
- No food/drink in the building except cafeteria
2. Weather is garbage (and I hate the cold)
3. Not P/F but instead is graded
4. Would be far away from my S.O.
NYITCOM-Old Westbury
Pros:
1. The grading system is Honors/High Pass/Pass/Fail (not sure whether to consider this another form of A/B/C/F or not) .
2. Lecture is not mandatory
3. Location
- Closer to S.O. and my friends as a support system
- Better weather
- Close to NYC
4. Good stats as well
Cons:
1. Price
- High tuition ($62k)
- High cost of living
------------------------------------
I put a strikethrough on the stats for both since they would cancel each other out, but I'm just having a very tough decision. I hate the thought of having a lot of debt, but I had a really crappy undergrad experience and don't LECOM to be my undergrad 2.0. For the uniform rule and food/drink rule, I don't think it would be much of a big deal for me in the long run, but again it would also be depressing in Erie I feel like because my S.O. isn't there and the weather is just not a thing for me.
I would really appreciate any opinions, first-hand or not, and what you would do in my shoes.
@Goro @Faha @TheDataKing @PapaGuava if you guys could weigh-in, I would appreciate it.
Thanks again!
