Hi Guys,
Anyone interviewing at LECOM?
I am very unfamiliar with how Group interview works, if anyone that has interview there before would be so kind as to share your experience. I would appreciate it.

I understand that during the interview we will break into groups of 5 people to do a PBL case study. Group work I am very familiar with as I have done many group presentations and projects. But the concept of being interview in a group is a strange one for me.

When the interview asks,"Why Dentistry?" Do people just jump in and answer?
How do you transition from 1 person to the next? "Unlike BOB, I got into dentistry when I was..." ? How many minutes do we even get? as some answers are longer than others.

Anyone with group interview experience, can you please share? Thanks in advance.

of my interviews, i didn't like lecom's group style interview at all. it felt very impersonal. i barely got to express my views or anything. but i did interact with everyone so i think i did okay? idk.

USC interview had a case study. Since LECOM is using PBL for its program, intuitively, they would want use it during interview to see if you are "right" for their program. This is just my guess.

It's only a group interview, they ask normal questions and u all will have a chance to answer. no case study! Good luck!

I would agree on the impersonal aspect of the group interview. I honestly feel like the reason for the group set up is to just see how you interact with others and how you present yourself amongst your peers. Make sure you speak clearly and with confidence and don't ramble too much. There really is no order in which students speak, just try not to be the last person to answer every time a question is asked. My group interview lasted roughly 40 minutes. Good luck, and don't stress about it. Go in with confidence and you will do great!
