LECOM vs. VCU (OOS)

Hi everyone I just wanted to try and get some insight from some people that may be objective. I was fortunate enough to get a few acceltances and I have narrowed it down to two schools VCU and Lecom. I grew up 2 hours from Lecom so it’s close to home but on my interview the school seemed disorganized. VCU seemed like a better education and location but will cost be 100k+ more as an OOS student. Which do you feel is the right choice?

If you feel you can succeed with pbl, i would go with lecom.

If you're in-state, you should go to LECOM. Great location and great cost.

I got a very different feel during my interview. Maybe it was just an off day? I vote LECOM too.

If you're interested in Primary Care, go with LECOM.

Otherwise, VCU will open more doors.

Not a fan of Richmond either.

Wrong board boss. But VCU (dental) probably does a better job regarding specialty placement than LECOM does.


OP how many times do we need to beat this dead horse? Go to the cheapest school!

For sure VCU, all of the admissions committee members on this site would tell you to pick a MD > DO so you don't have to jump through hoops later on in your future.
