LECOME Orientation without acceptance

I just received an email about orientation for LECOM from the admissions department at the school. It was regarding the 5 requirements before orientation, however I haven't received an interview or an acceptance from the school. Has this happened before?

Heard about this happening to some people who had done a SMP. Have you called them?

What's an SMP? and no I'm out of the country so I sent an email. They said the requirements have to be completed by July 21st, which is in two days. Also, I applied for the Fall 2018 cycle and this is in regard to Fall 2017 I think.

Most likely an email mistake. Similar things have happened at other schools

I called LECOM admissions, and they said that the email went out in error.

Yeah, I got the same letter and got my rejection letter today which is devastating. I want to ask them to reconsider maybe placing me on the waitlist or alternate list but I'm not sure how to go about it...

This happened to me last year with BCOM. I got a letter congratulating me on my acceptance, when I had never even interviewed.

I remember something like that happening at BCOM. I almost wonder if they did it to get their name out there. In all honesty though, it worked for me. I threw an app their way last cycle only because of that email. I didn't know who they were prior to that.
