So I got the three day outline from the doctor I'm going to shadow:

Day 1 = Surgery
Day 2 = Clinic
Day 3 = Lecture followed by Clinic.

I was originally gonna stay 2 days because I'm busy the third day but he said the third day would be good to learn about residency. So my question... what is this "lecture" and better yet, is it worth going to?

When I shadowed in the NICU, there would be a daily seminar from 1-2. The topics of these seminars would be anything from general trends in vlbw survival to common heart defects to a case study on our CFer with Meconium Ileus. I barely understood any of it, but I learned a lot. I still have a lot of the papers and such around. I'd imagine it could be something similar.

i'd go...something cool could catch your eye.

If he did this for you, I would go. Sounds like a cool guy.

Take advantage of it, you'll probably learn cool stuff from the lecture. 🙂

That sounds awesome. I'm jealous.

Well, he didn't really organize this just for me lol. This is just his daily schedule, and the department coordinator (who I presume is close to the doc) told me I can just tag along with him during all those activities. Guess I'll stick around for the third day! 😀
