Choose the one that best fits:

It is OK to come late to lecture and walk through the front of the lecture hall between the class and the lecturer as long as one is fully clothed.

OR

Naked or clothed, latecomers should enter lecture hall through a back door and sit in the back of the class

Usually the back fills up because someone who is 15 seconds early is afraid the prof might start while they are walking. So the guy who is 5 minutes late might not be able to get a seat in the back because they have all already been taken.

eh, if it's <5 minutes into class, sit where you want, but don't walk through the front of class.

PS: Darth Vader is sitting across from me, here in the public library. Or at least from what it sounds like.

The back always fills first at my school, since that's the prime sleeping area. Latecomers sit in front, where their punishment is having to stay awake.

You mean people who do this?

'real med students of genius'

!!

too funny

Either way, just help the door close softly and keep a low profile in general. Slamming the door as a latecomer is just rude. 👎

It is pretty rude to walk into class late. If it is not mandatory, I would suggest waiting till the next class.

If repeatedly late, they should be lynched by the whole class with a partyhat on their heads that's filled with butter that melts down on their heads.

No, seriously, they should walk in the back and progressively work towards the lecturer if there aren't any seats avaible.

Missing the bigger issue here, which is: Why are you going to lecture?

Realizing that some people learn that way, I'd say if you ARE going to go, it's rude as heck and distracting to use the front door once the lecture starts.
