Hello,
My class is having an online review session, but I will not be able to watch it because I have something else going on. Does anyone know of some kind of program I could use that would allow me to record the online lecture on my computer while I am away? With audio?

You could try Bandicam or Hypercam if you just need it to record your computer screen while you are away.

Would I have to leave my computer screen open for that? What if my computer went to sleep?

Yes you likely would have to leave your screen open for that. You can control whether your computer goes to sleep or not by going to power management settings or something similar. As long as you have it plugged in, it is possible to prevent it from going to sleep essentially forever (that is, until a windows update shows up and no one is there to postpone it by another 4 hours 😛)

Thanks. Hm, looks like I have to pay $39 for bandicam. I guess I will try hypercam

camtasia recorder 8 works ok too

It would be so cool if you throwback to the old bootleg roots. Just plop a VHS camcorder in front of your monitor for low-quality picture and sound, but high-quality nostalgia.
