hola!

i made my NOVA interview at 2:30 pm. They said expect to stay until 8 pm.

is it just me or does that seem pretty late? are they gonna be serving me dinner? haha.

SO, just wondering how long the interview at NOVA is (including individual interview, tour, financial aid interview, meal?)...bc i'm having trouble finding flights leaving FL back to the west coast after the interview (around 9pm).

ALSO, I've read on this forum that you can tell Fran that you can't stay for the whole interview and they don't mind you leaving early... How do you tell them that...in advance before the interview...that just seems weird to cut your interview short.

thanks for reading!

The length of the interview depends on how many questions you ask them. For my interview, it lasted about 20 to 25 minutes. I got to the school at 10:00 and we were finished by 2:00.

depends on when your interview time slot is. If they tell you to report at 2pm, then most likely you'll have your actual interview w/ the faculty anytime from 6-8p since you'll be touring and doing other stuff from 2-6pm. I know they also have interviews at 10am on certain days, and I believe they do the interviews first and then tour the place and etc etc. anyway you'll have fun, just don't fall asleep

I remember the whole thing taking about 5 hours. The interview itself lasted about 20 minutes for me, but the day is filled with other activities like a tour of the gorgeous facilities, a financial aid session (lame/boring), and a talk with Dr. Reich, the dean of student affairs (who is really laid back and cool, kind of reminded me of Ray Romano).

The day is actually really chill and stress-free. Everybody wants to make you feel welcome, and you'll meet some other students interviewing in other fields like medicine and dentistry too. There's even lemonade and cookies out there for you to munch on.

If you can, I'd strongly recommend staying the entire time even if Fran seems cool with you leaving early. Also, take some time to look around the Fort Lauderdale area to explore housing options, check out social activities, even take a walk on the beach; you'll get a good feel for what it might be like to live there.

check your mail. they send you an itinerary which tells you what will be going on during those 5 hours.

30 mins of financial aid workshop
1 hr with the dean
1 hr tour
30 mins with Students
rest of time depends on your interview order with 2 faculty. If your one of the first ones to go in, you'll be the first to leave afterwards.
