Hello everyone, and happy new year.

I am currently considering sending a letter of intent to a school that I am incredibly interested in and committed to attending. I already have one acceptance, but this preferred school is a much better match for me and offers more chances to succeed in my desired field. I interviewed for the preferred school in late September; however, I did not receive an offer of admission in the first decision wave in December.

I want to clarify that I am still under consideration for this school, and there are three more admissions waves for the cycle. I am wondering when would be the optimal time and how to phrase a potential letter of intent to this school. Should I send it soon, or wait until closer to the final admissions decisions date? Any advice on this topic is appreciated, and I am grateful for the continued guidance and dedication on the forums.

Thank you all!

Obviously, IMO, I wouldn't wait until the last offer wave. 🙂 Everyone will try to send a Hail Mary letter after the penultimate wave. If people get accepted in the second wave because they all sent in LOIntents, then that secret would be out.

I don't know if there is ever an optimal time, and I don't know if this school wants to be reminded with multiple LOIntents after waves 2 and 3. I suppose you have nothing to lose (other than dignity 🙂 , kidding! ). You already interviewed, so stay classy.

Thank you for your response! I only plan on sending the one, so I don't think flooding their inbox should be an issue. I appreciate the help!
