I'm applying for fellowship (Dec cycle) and just submitted my application a few days ago.
The application is complete except for one letter of recommendation that I am still waiting on from an attending I did any away rotation with. I emailed him 10 days ago to find out the status of the letter and to make sure he had all the documents he needed and he said it was going to be done within a week and he would submit it electronically on ERAS.
I don't want to badger the guy as I know he is busy. Also, he approached me about writing a letter of recommendation when he found out I was applying for fellowship, so I'm hoping this doesn't mean something else.
I have 3 letters total and need his for programs in order to be considered a completed application. Only a 1/3 of the programs I have applied to have even downloaded the ERAS app so I know it's still early in the game.
Any recommendation on how much time I should give him before contacting him again? I know him fellows pretty well and could get in touch with them as well.
