Hey guys what's really annoying for me is that matching form for the letters of rec and having teachers them fill it out after writing the LOR. I want to get them done and written and put into an envelope but i can't have it really done till that form comes out for next cycle which is when i'm applying. I its a bit difficult to go find the dentist i volunteered thats far and tell him to hold on to it and put it in together with the matching form when i get it blah blah blah.

My question is can i just take the matching form when it comes out, fill it out for that letter of rec and put a rubber band around it with the envelope thats signed and everything that has the letter of rec inside (do this will all my LOR's) then put them all in a big packet and send them all out at once? Is aadsas ok if i do this i really don't want anything missing or incomplete. Your opinions and Ideas please! Thanks

so u're applying for the 2007 cycle?
if so, maybe u should get recommenders to write them later...in my opinion, seeing a letter dated LAST year might make me think...well what did he/she do the whole of this yr? couldn't he/she get a letter written recently?

i personally think if u just attach the enveloped letter with the matching form..it should be OK.

glduck

You don't need the matching form if you send the letters in yourself.

yea i'm applying in 2007 but i will probably get the letters around march.

Yea but if i apply to 20 schools i don't want to have 60 letters to be sent out. So thats why i'm asking the whole aadsas thing if i can do the rubber band thing.

bump need more opinions thanks

Last year when I sent in my LOR to aadsas I didn't use any matching forms. I just put the LOR's (in envelopes signed across the seal) in a manilla envelope with my transcripts and mailed it off to aadsas. No schools complained and aadsas never complained. I don't see the function of the matching forms. They are just a pain.

if you are going to send it without matching forms i would highly suggest making sure that it has your application information such as your ssn, and aadsas # on the letter it self

The way my school worked was the pre med office would keep all your letters as you got them and would assemble the matching forms when they came in for you so that you never had to deal with them.

The other option is to just fill out a 2006 form and change the 2006 to a 2007. I dont think they really change anything from year to year. And even if they did I dont think they would care if you had an older version.

that's what i did. I used cycle 2005 and changed it to 2006 like mentioned above. No problem. THe purpose of matching form is just to help them find your file easier.
