Hi all!

My letter writer had originally submitted their correct letter and it was distributed to schools when my application was verified. However, today they accidentally uploaded another letter that they meant for another student with a similar name to my portal. What should I do?

How did you become aware of this?
The two similar names should have different AMCAS numbers and letter upload codes

I got a notification from AMCAS that a new letter was uploaded which I thought was strange since they submitted it a few weeks ago so I emailed them and they said they accidentally uploaded the wrong students letter to my portal. They said they "deleted" it from the AMCAS letter writer portal but I am worried it has gone out to all my schools now.

Once the proper letter is obtained, the mistaken letter can be easily taken care of. The schools can figure out if a letter they received was not correctly matched.

I was able to get in contact with the letter writer and they resubmitted the original letter. So now I am assuming schools will have three letters (original, mistake, and original resubmitted). Should I contact schools to let them know or you think they will just figure it out and review the most recent letter?

I think they can figure out the mistaken letter. If they have questions, I presume someone will contact you.
