So, I am a first-time applicant and am very interested in a particular school. I am submitting the supplementary application now, but when should I submit a letter of interest?
I hoped to do it just after submitting the secondary, but I see mixed reviews that it should only be after you receive an interview. I have no idea what to do; I just want to improve my chances of getting into this school.
I understand the letter of interest is different from the letter of intent, and I am specifically asking about a letter of interest. Guidance?

Some schools welcome updates and later in the process a letter of interest. However, if you just submitted your secondary, you've just indicated pretty serious interest. Presumably your app tells them anything of significance that has occurred to date. Now or in the near future would be too soon and would show questionable judgment.

Also as I just said, some schools welcome updates and others don't. Know how your target schools feels about updates before you send them. Finally, you are talking about a letter of interest, and I keep writing "update." No schools wants to get an email telling them what they already know. They know you want to attend because you just applied. I wouldn't send a letter of interest until you could also tell them something that strengthens your candidacy and that occurs after you submitted your secondary.
