I searched and the last relevant thread is 3 years old - so just wanted clarification from those who have done this so far during this cycle. Also the 2014-2015 letter thread is dead, so many questions without answers and no activity in the past 10 days.

My committee letter was sent out via snail mail to AMCAS today. Will it be marked as "received" relatively quickly, or will it take weeks because of the back-up (similar to how verification of primaries submitted now will take over a month)?

if i slaved pre-writing all these secondaries only to be delayed by my slow committee letter, something fragile in my room is gon' get smashed

It is pretty quick. They mark them within a couple days of when they receive it.

I had one go out in the mail (Illinois) last Monday, and it was marked received by the end of the week. Very fast.

Snail mail? Why not just upload via online?

One was mine was uploaded yesterday around 10am, got confirmation from AAMC at like 10:15.

Print out the LOR request form and highlight the instructions for uploading it online. I told my LOR authors that this is the way I would like them to do it -- ended up having them uploaded and verified within three days.

It's just the way my premed committee does it, and they're the ones with my seven letters attached to the committee letter. If my committee did not require so many LORs, I probably would have had a few personal LORS and made sure to mention to upload it vs snail mailing it.

Thanks for the input everyone 🙂!
