For those of you who reapplied: Did you use your old letters of recommendation or did you get new ones?

Some of them were old. People that I can still get a hold of, they re-wrote it for me. My pre-med advisor re-wrote her letter as well.

3 old ones from academics. 3 from current employers. 2 from current volunteer opps.

i discussed specifically what kind of info the admissions committee would want to know, and asked whether the recommenders could offer an example of when i had shown those great character traits. makes for a more lively letter. i also asked them to be honest about areas in which i can improve myself. authenticity uber alles!

try to get letters that make you come alive on the page. after all, how much of a sense can you get of a person from gpa and mcat...zzzzzzzzzzz
