Just some disclaimers:
1) My question is not regarding whether or not I *should* try to leverage aid, my mind is already made up. I'm seeing this flaming train wreck through to its last embers.
2) My email has been peer approved so I'm not worried about the content- you can assume I'm not holding this school at the electronic equivalent of gunpoint for some kind of highway robbery/extortion.

My question is: If we are trying to leverage aid from a school, is it ok to include the actual aid notice you got from another school? My aid notice is a scholarship contract. Seems risky to just have them take my word for it, but additionally, seems a bit grubby to actually link the contract. Advice/thoughts helpful.

I don’t see the need to provide proof. Just state your case and the school will respond or not

I've had schools ask me to send the proof after I send the initial email so they have something concrete to add to my file!! I think you can always just add "I have attached the scholarship offer below if you would like to review it"

I consulted to a financial aid office for another topic, but I asked them about leveraging aid between schools. The associate director told me that they give need-based aid only, so across the board schools should offer similar numbers. She said if someone emails them and says that they got a better deal at another university, then they ask for the proof to see how that school evaluated the student’s need. I think it is reasonable to send an email to the financial aid office if you got a better deal at another medical schools. Then, they will probably ask you for the documentation.
