My school told me to get my own because your company can often times sue you for a mistake. Many people I know are only covered the employers complimentary plan. What is your take? Get your own liability insurance or is the one that your employer offers you good enough?

If you're concerned you can get good coverage for a few hundred a year. It's not expensive for pharmacists because there is a relatively low number of claims compared with other health care providers. I would say just get it and have your butt covered. A company will probably not hesitate to throw you under the bus if they determine you didn't exactly follow their policies.
