Texas in general is a disgusting tree-less wasteland. The state was built on the idea of destroying the environment via oil harvesting and processing (Exxon Mobil, Energy Transfer Equity, Pioneer Natural Resources, Western Refining, Valero, ConocoPhilips, Energy Future Holdings, ect) . They pridefully kill the most prisoners a year via execution by a longshot, making their congress and their people just as bad as serial killers. They have some of the highest obesity rates in the county due to car culture and drive through everywhere. My only hope for that state is that the Mexican-Americans that tend to be more environmentally conscious are quickly replacing the old school Americans that live there. Dallas and Houston are some of the grosses cities I have ever been to. Truly a terrible place to live as they destroy the Earth and make a mockery of what it means to be human. Also can't wait for oil prices to go down even further so the Texas economy will continue to crash. The real estate market in Texas is already starting to crash.

Untrue on just about every level. I'm continually amazed at how dirty cities OUTSIDE of Texas are by comparison.
Not gonna start a debate about capital punishment, but serial killers kill innocent people. The people who Texas sentences to die are not innocent. I think you've been in that car too long homie...

[PharmD Jobs Are Hopeless]

I really don't understand how this is possible. You have to be doing something wrong. Your logic makes no sense. Why you even work as a pizza delivery driver before attempting to work as a pharmacy technician? (I am not saying you should be a technician because no pharmacist with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree should be doing anything less than what that degree is worth, but a smarter choice would have been to purse that route). There is something that's not right here.

I have a PharmD two years past experience as a tech and three years as an Intern. I applied to intern jobs and was not even considered. Every intern I know told me that they knew the pharmacy manager before they applied and got hired. Times are bad for pharmacy jobs period.

Half of those postings are fake though, most likely filled already by an internal candidate or friend/family of the person hiring. They legally have to post them to make it look like everyone has a fair shot.

I will go a step farther where most people do not want to talk about this. I been to retail sites and hospitals where all the employees under the manager were some what associated in some way. Friends, family, or something else. One of my rotation sites was 100% South East Asian. What are the chances that the only qualified applicants were South East Asian including almost all of the techs were Phillipino? Right, that was a coincidence. Another site was dominated by all Persian pharmacists and techs. A girl I went to school with told people she wanted to set up a Latino community pharmacy run exclusively by Latinos for Latinos. A Mormon friend that I went to school with said that he knew for a fact that getting a job in Utah can be a challenge if you are not LDS and they have other LDS applicants. A Dean from my college of Pharmacy put his foot in his mouth one day and told the P1 class that he was not going to lie to them about getting a job in Utah because that was a long shot for most people, He did not include what my friend had said, but I am sure that is what he was referring to. There are places that are going to hire unfairly. I lived in the South and the South West and yes this is a thing unfortunately in both areas. I even had a male preceptor that didn't mind saying in front of his employees that he wanted my school to send him hot female students. He said my school's APPE coordinator was not being fair to him by sending mostly males. He said he felt C@ck blocked by the coordinator. I have seen other preceptors that might have had this same attitude, but this guy did not care to announce it like he had nothing to lose. He then complains that former female students accused his site of having way to much locker room talk on their site evaluations. I really did not care about all of these things until I realized that these are all pitfalls you have to avoid to get hired. In an over saturated job market, these things really become a much bigger issue if you have to waste your time applying to dead ends.
